I Get Propositioned All Night

I attended a birthday party for a good friend tonight. A number of guys arranged it to happen in what's considered a local gay strip club. No one actually gets fully naked, just kinda skimpy.

We had a dilemma. My husband hadda attend a board meeting of the gay mens chorus he co-founded 30 years ago, the first in Florida. But we've known this other guy forever. Our compromise was he attend the board meeting, while I attend the birthday party.

So I'm sitting at the bar, and these young kids in tiny colored briefs are coming up to me. Caressing me, feeling me up. I'm 67, they're barely 20, and THEY'RE falling all over ME??? What's wrong with this picture?

"You wanna go in the back room with me?"

    "No, I have a husband, I'm monogamous and I don't mess around."

"Yeah, but I could show you a good time."

He doesn't stop. So I get a little firm with him and he goes away. And then another one comes up and starts the same routine. He pulls his dick out of his briefs, and asks me if I wanna hold it. I don't. This goes on with others for nearly an hour.

I decided to leave early, before the cake cutting and all that. I gave our greetings to our friend, and got the hell out of that cesspool.

When I saw my husband back home he said he knew I was upset, by the tone of my voice when I called him several times earlier to update him on my status. "You didn't sound happy at all."

No, I wasn't happy. And I'm not gonna go back to that place again, I don't care whose event is being hosted there.

Those weren't propositions. They were attempted business transactions.

Sounds like they harassed you pretty bad. Sorry that happened and that it ruined your evening!

Kinda cheesy throwing a party at a club where you know your guests are going to be harassed for $$. This goes waaaaaaaay beyond tacky. I'm surprised that you, Art, of all people would count among your friends persons so gauche.

The classy thing would have been for your friends to hire some scantily clad young things to pass around the hors d'oeuvres and cake in a private home.

Well, nothing really ruins anything for me. I got a good story out of it. And we'll likely both see our friend later this week, maybe have lunch with him.

His birthday is actually tomorrow. We'll catch up with him. It was merely important that I make a token appearance tonight and be seen, and I accomplished that. Tonight's awful experience will provide us with endless laughs for a long time. icon_biggrin.gif

    You fuckin senile old man.

Of course you wanted to participate!!! Why would you go to a gay strip club? To have a coffee and read a book?

I swear, your level of stupidity grows every year.

My former roommate was a stripper there. He would always talk about taking advantage of old, horny men like you.

Then he would come home to me...icon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gif

Our friend claims this was all arranged without his knowledge. And that he didn't like the idea himself, but went along because it was all arranged and in place when he was told about it. Sorta like a tacky bachelor party before a wedding. I dunno...

Were there any patrons that night who weren't with the party? If the whole venue was reserved, or if the Monday night crowd is always sparse, that might explain why the talent were a bit more direct and insistent than they should have been; maybe a Thursday or Friday night would have given the staff more targets for the shakedown and made the whole thing a bit less awkward.

It's a story to share with the husband, at any rate. Next year maybe you can get your respective groups to trade venues. icon_smile.gif

They were working - they were trying to make money. I thought you were a bit more aware than this! I guess if they are being particularly aggressive you could have alerted one of the staff members.

I was in a 'rent boy bar' in Prague once in my early 20s and a lot of the clientele were 40+, initially they thought I was one of the boys (I got mistaken for Czech many times that trip) but when they realised I wasn't I just sat and chatted with them. A lot of the boys hit on me but I knew they were just after money, they weren't at all pushy about it and took a no for a no though.

I understand they were working. And this is how they're supposed to act. It was the same way when I was last there years ago, playing wingman for a friend visiting from out of town who wanted to check the place out. Complaining to the staff would accomplish nothing.

They had a "Mother" in drag, who sat at the bar nearest the stage. She had a clipboard and microphone. Every few minutes she called a new performer on stage, and the boys all rotated, including those simultaneouly dancing on platforms all around the place, and those working the crowd. The owner was also there circulating, meaning the bois were doing exactly as they were expected. They couldn't have offered me a private visit to the back room if they weren't authorized.

    Haha I love that concept!

At the bar in Prague, the door guy was much more my type - older than the boys (who were probably all around 18-22) and better muscled, I would probably have paid to have some one-on-one time with him but according to the other patrons he was straight and not on offer! Shame.

I just went to lunch at a local place, and the owner came up to me:

"Bob, I heard you were assaulted by stripper boys last night."

"YOU heard? You weren't there. How did YOU hear?"

"Oh, it's all over town today." icon_eek.gificon_redface.gif

Apparently my discomfort and early departure was noted by others, and the story quickly got spread around. One of the disadvantages of living in a relatively small, condensed gay community where almost everyone knows you.

But which also reinforces my resolve not to do anything with these guys, because that would have gotten around, too. Instead, what my husband heard reported was my absolute fidelity, not even some flirting or touchy-feely with aggressive paid bar bois.

Monday night where he went is generally sparse. I'm surprised he was not prepared for this lol. The fort Lauderdale metro area is full of horny old white men paying for young dick. Growing up everyone use to tell me to check out this place called Jays (I might have it wrong). I went in once and it was a smoke filled room with a bunch of guys over 60 fondling guys under 20. I was so disgusted I turned around left and never went back.

The place he most likely went to isn't as bad but its similar enough. There use to be a bartender there who could make a long island that would change your life. The stripers were desperate and aggressive though.

I didn't know what to expect, I hadn't been in that place since 2007. And Mondays at the bars here are usually fairly quiet.

Seated to my left was a scruffy old guy. The dancer bois knew him by name, and fawned all over him. I guess that was his main source of kicks. Same with another older guy 2 bar stools further down, with scraggly long greasy blond hair that evidently hadn't seen shampoo in quite a while.

If I saw either of these characters on the street panhandling it wouldn't surprise me, based on their disreputable appearances. Just one more element in the yuck factor that made this place repellent to me.

You were a new face, so that's where the attention came from. But it does read like you handled the situation badly and created unnecessary drama.

Seems silly to go to a venue like that and then complain when employees are doing their jobs. Yes, you viewed as a potential new source of revenue, but they are supposed to approach you, they are supposed to flirt with you, they are supposed to offer you the same services they afford regular patrons. High customer satisfaction is part of retention, and any bar needs that whether they are serving cocktails or cocks.

The strip club was probably chosen so guys in the party would relax, be entertained, and enjoy a safe form of sexual stimulation. Instead you got uptight and began looking down upon the employees, the bar, and later in this thread, other men outside of your party who were there to have a good time.

"No thank you. I'm here to only [fill in social activity], but you have fun with the other patrons tonight." is a polite way to turn down offers, and you only have to do it three or four times before word spreads.

Sam27 saidCome on Art. I know you like it when guys asking you to do something. Don't be in denial. ;-)

No, I honestly don't like it. First of all, I know they're merely being paid to do it. It has nothing to do with me personally. Why should I be flattered and like that? What a gullible fool I'd be to be seduced by that play-for-pay. Which in a sense I actually find an insult.

Second, I have the man I want. Playing around with someone else might undermine that. Why spoil what I already have? Or worse, break his heart.

Go hit on some other guy, bikini boi, I'm not interested.

Poor old Arty. Wanting his readers to imagine that he's attractive to the party-bois. In reality, the bois would have had to be high to engage in anything with some flabby old pig sitting there in a snit, before he stormed out of the joint.

Niiiiice party, Arty. You bring so much to the party. Your only job was to be a guest and have a good time. You couldn't pull that off.........
