THE WARMTH OF SPRING? What is February Like Where You Are?

Kansas is a big state and with the variations in elevation (east to west)
and the natural distance from north to south.. along with the chinook winds from the mountains, we have a huge difference at times just within this state.

We can have cold temperatures during the winter (20's) one day and warm directly into the 50's and 60's overnight... and generally snow isn't bad (like this winter, which hasn't amounted to anything).

Today it is to be 63, 72 tomorrow and 65 on Saturday. Is it the beginning of spring? LOL? Actually we have had some bad snowstorms during February's past.

So it is short sleeves for you the next few days?

Funny you should ask. Florida just got hit with a severe cold spell, even the southern half down to near freezing temps last night where I live. Was 33 when I woke up, coldest it's been all winter, and be no higher than about 55 today. Gonna be riding the Vespa in that later, with a heavy jacket. icon_sad.gif

Back to the mid-70s by Saturday, though, should stay that way for at least a week, even hit 80 one day according to the forecast, which is seasonal for here. How does Kansas get to be warmer than Florida in the winter? icon_confused.gif

Wind chill this morning about -22 Celsius, which is about -8 on the old Fahrenheit scale. Saturday it is supposed to hit a balmy +5 C (41 F), and next week they are predicting +7 by Wednesday (45 F). Get out the speedos!

Temperature in SE Michigan is now up to 3°F.
Up from a low of -17°F last night.

I blame Canada for this arctic front.

Global warming can't come soon enough!

    (:

well, two days ago it snowed...

today, the high is 35*F, and when I left this morning, it was 17*F.

Tomorrow, the high is 55*, and then 60-65 through at least Monday...

Then it'll probably be cold again...then we'll get a hurricane, a heat wave, followed by some ice, and then a tsunami. Seriously...it's Raleigh NC. Don't like the weather? Wait twelve hours...almost guaranteed to change - sometimes very dramatically...

Overall though, I love it. We do have distinct seasons, though I wish we got a bit more snow in the wintertime...

Phoenix is in the low 80s right now during the days. Blue sky and sunshine. I've pretty much been all over the world, and this climate is about as good as it gets!

Here in SE Iowa, we're supposed to have highs in the 40s and 50s for the next few days. That's too chilly for short sleeves, but it's warm enough for not wearing a hat and using product in my hair.

Currently 82 degrees in CR. The bitter cold that hit FL has squeezed the warm air down south and created huge winds for us. Lots of trees down and intermittant power blips. Luckily after 2 days of big gusts, we're back to normal this morning.

I'm freezing my ass off here in Florida. I woke up this morning very cold. Then I realized that the AC was on and I went out of my room very pissed off at my roommates for turning on the AC and putting it on 50. But then neither of them were there because both went to class. LOL. I turned it off and its still very cold!

-5 here this morning but it is supposed to be 42 on Saturday. January is, I think, the colder month. But February just kills moral here.

It's supposed to be a bit warm here today, 67F. Not great but it could be worse. I'm dying for my 90+ temps again.

It's 44 and sunny right now, the high for Willcox should be 75. The Sulphur Springs valley is beautiful but we get our share of wind; it was ripping when I left for AgDay yesterday morn.
