Houston should be ashamed of itself

I'm currently on my way home and witness a man attack a woman and steal her backpack. From the sound of it it looked like domestic abuse but I didn't tell Houston this. I simply called 911 and reported a robbery, there are 4 police cars two blocks away but they are down another road. Since I was at the rail 911 transferred me to the metro police. The metro police then transferred me to the non emergency number. Houston should be ashamed of its self. I was reporting an on going robbery. I guess since it's most likely a drug addict robbing another drug addict she wasn't worth city resources. Of course this is about 10 blocks away from where someone pulled a gun on me a year ago after calling me a faggot. The police did nothing then either. The guy was at the same corner wearing the same clothes I reported to police the next morning. Let me not forget that the dispatcher once asked me to approach a burning house so I could give her the address because the cross street wouldn't do. She wouldn't even accept my address even though my apartment was only a block away. The fact that someone was screaming for someone in the house meant nothing to her.

Remember a lawyer at the law firm I worked for telling me that her house had been broken into three times. The last time she and her husband and the police all arrived at the same time. The police asked her husband to walk ahead of them up the stairs in case the intruder was someone he knew. icon_rolleyes.gif

I witnessed this huge guy hit and terrorize his girlfriend in his car the other night. I was walking down the street and as he sped off she tried to throw herself out of the vehicle and screamed at me for help.
I called the police and gave the license plate number but they didn't seem very interested.icon_neutral.gif
    I hope she's ok.

Houston knows no shame. Isn't it obvious?

Thanks for the stories. I guess I was a bit distraught that an active mugging was deemed a non emergency in the eyes of the Houston Police Department.
