Im thank god all mighty after 5 miserable years in Colorado, moving the FUCK out this month. They can keep lying to people about a economic/housing boom, but Already they're talking about how the economy here is so dependent on oil prices...which is clearly taking a tumble. All the single gay men here can afford is rent, weed and a pitcher of beer. Won't be long before this place is just another dusty western town with tumbleweeds bouncing around. Anyhow...I have been seeing the rather small Anytime fitness gyms in various parts of the country. I also see they are an actual 24 hour gym also, with locations in many states/areas that 24 hour doesn't service.

After 2 try-out days, I have to say I am really liking this gym. Both times I've gone between 5 and 8 pm, normally times I avoid 24 hour because they are packed full. Idk if it's just this one neighborhood gym I tried or if they are all like that, but I found the quiet, non-populated atmosphere to make me feel so much more relaxed.

I just been feeling I'm so over these big gyms. It's nice and all, but they just don't seem to have any connection or camaraderie between and with the members. And I am SOOO sick of all the fucking roided up looking, think they're the shit white guys at 24 hour fitness. Yet, they seem to only exist in the mirage of the gym and nowhere else. Not saying they are doing those things, but something about the vibe at 24 hour makes me leave feeling irritated and self-conscious, and I'm in decent shape I'd think icon_mad.gif. It's like they're there to train for sports or body building, whereas the anytime fitness seems like normal people who like to just fucking workout and not make a spectacle of it. Not to mention the pack rats.

They have a promotion going on and I def think I'm gonna sign up for it, but just needed to check out a couple more gyms. My only issue is the equipment at the gym near me is new and clean, but was kinda limited. However, that can likely be mitigated by going to different locations.

Just wondering if anyone has or is using them, and what you think? The 2 year contract was kinda a turn off, but I have always been faithful to the gyms I attend. Shit, I stuck with Bally since 2008 until 24 hour started buying them out in 2015.

It sounds like you are self-conscious. Why do you care why another person uses a gym? Why does it matter that the 'roided-up' guys are white? Please do some self-reflection.

the OP has been hanging around the cowboy Charlies Denver nightclub again. All the gay oil field workers go there and talk about the price of diesel. Sorry, enough fun, very best wishes for the new digs.

people move here (Denver) and are and surprised by the cost of housing.

24Hour bought the old local Denver Baileys gyms. Both establishments are way behind and have lots of delayed maintenance. They have few store fronts outside of the suburbs so the downtown stores are PACKED with members. Just a guess, thinking the OP is not any more self-conscious than average.

24 hour fitness sounds like you fit in Florida. The reason you see fewer roided up guys is that these smaller cheaper gyms tend to attract poorer clients who can't afford gear. You'll see more service sector workers and fewer professionals. Having gone to five different 24 hour fitnesses in Houston I would say the members at the Meyerland location are the least stuck up while Midtown and Rice are the most. It makes sense. Meyerland isn't in as nice of a location. More well off (young) people think more highly of themselves and tend to be a bit flamboyant, especially well off young gays. I don't mean feminine. I mean the, "everyone must know how important I am persona many put on."

Stock up on sunscreen; there's sure to be more sun there than in Minn.

I used the word self-conscious. I did.I don't care why another person uses the gym. I do care if they're radiating a sense of better than thou attitude. You're confusing textual philosophy with my real meaning. Don't get ahead of me now. Stay focused.

Now, the white and roided up part was only describing the local gym I go to. It doesn't matter, but I want to be at a gym that feels a bit more "together" and realistic. Anytime fitness reminds me of the college and high school gyms...not some big Costco shopping center.

Also, I'd think most guys at the gym are self-conscious to a degree. I have met and had friends who are the stereotypical 24 hour "crowd". They're all overly into themselves, and just think they're the shit. Yet equally they are insecure and use they're the shit persona to put others down. I'm not sayin I'm jealous or someone shouldn't fucking hit the weights and workout hard or whatever.
