...this was done without being deadened and in front of a nurse and my mother, I haven't got over the embarrassment of that. If I had been cut from birth then that wouldn't have happened and could have saved myself the humiliation.
My oldest son had a series of infections under his foreskin, which wouldn't properly retract for cleaning. The doctors called it phimosis. So he was circumcised, but at the younger age than you of 5, and under general anesthesia. I'm surprised that wasn't done with you.
One time I was having an invasive exam of my bladder. The VA urologist threaded a catheter camera up my dick. I was panting with the discomfort, no pain relief given because he wanted to see the natural reaction of the bladder sphincter muscle.
There were 2 female nurses assisting. I could deal with that, this was their job, they saw this daily. Until afterwards, when I commented that the procedure had been really painful for me.
"Well, I can understand why, with THAT thing you've got," replied the urologist, meaning my long dick.
The 2 female nurses giggled and turned away. It was then that I finally blushed bright red.
But honestly, I've had several female primary care doctors over the years, and I actually prefer them for a lot of this intimate stuff. Obviously they don't excite me sexually, so that's not a consideration.
But their more gentle touch, and slender fingers, make DREs (digital rectal exams) and checking my balls for lumps & abnormalities more tolerable, than do some rough, ham-fisted male doctors I've had. And their overall demeanor often gives them a lot better "bedside manner" than their male counterparts. Although I can't complain about my current male primary provider, a gay MD himself.
But having my Mother present for something like you did would certainly be unacceptable for me. Mine stopped being present during my pediatrician visits when I was about 10, and I don't think she saw me naked at home after about 8. Neither did my Father, but if I needed a parent present for an intimate medical procedure I think he'd have been more appropriate, or almost any other male relative.
