Does anyone know what happened to Cash? I know I've only been here for a couple of years but in that time I can honestly say that while I enjoy many, many folks who contribute to the forums, there have been less than a handful whom I sincerely have looked forward to reading their thoughts. There have been times where I truly laughed out loud at his comments (his profile was the best) and there were times where I was truly moved by his compassion. Yet there were times where we really didn't agree but isn't that (differences of opinion) what makes diversity as good as it can be?

I suspect that if I really got to know the two or three guys whom I have found so enjoyable to read in the forums, a lasting friendship would probably not develop. Familiarity often gets in the way. But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy our time together. As the very small number of people I enjoy seems to get even smaller, I find myself less interested in the forums as what used to be a good interchange of thoughts that one could find here.

I believe the haters sometimes get to the good ones and then they (the good ones) simply don't care to feed such narcissistic personalities and they decide to move on. Research estimates that narcissism affects one percent of the population with rates greater for the male population. It appears sometimes like our forums seem to attract most of that percentage.

I'm sure we all have our own reasons for wanting to read what others have to say. Sometime we think they are hot, sometimes they make us laugh, sometimes they are interesting and sometimes what they bring to the table is worthy.

My hope is that folks like Cash have returned somehow in a hidden or undisclosed profile and still enjoy the banter: the good as well as enjoyable discussions that can still be found here.

So my point before the haters jump to judge me for writing any of this: Has anyone heard from Cash and/or folks like him who have seemingly left and what are your thoughts, if you care to share them, about the declining worthiness of the forums and our actions/non-actions? icon_cool.gif

side note: The image which the link takes you to is that of Narcissus by Caravaggio (1571 - 1610), gazing at his own reflection. icon_cool.gif

His was the first profile that made me laugh out loud, he's that funny. I even messaged him when he was a new member about how funny it was. I like to think I "discovered" Cash, as I did the now-dead MuscleComeback, another sharp knife in our drawer, who I liked and engaged when he was still fat and rhapsodized about his Disney cells like some woman over her doll collection, before he became RJ's leading Transformebrity. (He was struck down by a car as he was assisting a motorist broken down on the highway shoulder.)

When death doesn't claim them, brilliant wits like Cash and another absent member, Ariodante/Narbisco, tend to move on, bored by us dullards.

I miss his perspective too. I could never keep up with him when I tried to participate, though, and the few times he acknowledged me I'd panic and make such an ass of myself that in the end I have to admit to being another one of eagermuscle's "dullards".

I think a contributing factor was that by the time he hid his profile his personal trolls (about half a dozen or so that I know of, none of whom really deserve to be named) pretty much had a perfectly synchronized round-the-clock watch going. He couldn't post anything anywhere without some combination of at least two or three of them descending like vultures and spamming the thread with various accusations ranging from spiteful to obscene.

I occasionally double-check to make sure he hasn't deleted his account. He certainly wasn't banned, and he didn't delete his profile outright. I hope he's found a much more enjoyable hobby than what the RJ forums have become. I hope the forums can stabilize somewhat and become mostly civil again, though I realize that wouldn't bring back those who have left.

The inverse of this whole post, and subsequent postings would be much closer to the truth... Like the vast majority of posters on RJ, he had unresolved emotional and self-esteem issues that he is unlikely to get out of, and to affirm someone with such issues or to be oblivious to such (you can still like someone but fully see who they are as people), indicates to me one of the many failings in gay men, and not just yourself, that they can't ever realistically assess their friends or partners so that they can have stable relationships with them. In such relationships, false ideas and expectations are held to such an extent that even abuse can occur, whether physical or emotional, and be accepted by the participants.

There was an incident in which Cash was catfished by a poster named Claystation. Cash never came to terms with this incident, to the extent of denial, but by reading the postings in this thread so far, I can't help but feel that's it's okay to catfish because Cash's own experience with being catfished, and his denial, still makes them out to be good people... They provide self-esteem boosts after all, right? More power to them, right!? Let's give a collective green-light to catfishers around the world!

Nothing "happened" to Cash. He is still around living the same life. I seriously doubt he would ever show up in a some hidden profile. Cash, Aristoshark, Yourname, and a whole bunch of other interesting guys on here just got bored with RJ, and tired of dealing with the crazies, trolls, and mean-spirited twinks and prudes that came to dominate the forums here. Maybe a new crop of interesting guys will show up here to take their place. And maybe not.

It seems to me that the guys you mentioned could be just as mean-spirited as anyone else on these forums. They were no "Miss Manners" themselves. Oftentimes their air of superiority was quite off putting.

Whatever failings you can think of that you've placed on Pazzy, I'm quite sure you can likewise put on Cash if you knew better. The great difference between Pazzy or Cash though, is that while Pazzy is highly opinionated, Pazzy never had the actions to match his stated spite (as he doesn't really leave his house except for work and just keeps the spite to himself). I wouldn't put it past Cash to say that his actions will match his stated spite, and something that I think he might agree with me on. And my god has the man been spiteful in the past, which I guess is a warning to never cross him. Being this way may be one of the reasons why he rationalized Clay the way he did, because if he ever saw Clay as a person who crossed him, it may mean hell for him.

I didn't want to isolate you, or even Art_Deco in a thread where you criticized GOP presidential candidates for going to a Christian conference that just so happens to be hosted by a virulent homophobe. But I'll do it this time around. It should be understood that these individuals just went to a place where differences of opinion would be voiced but within a Christian framework, even if that includes an anti-gay-marriage framework. What the candidates never ended up doing was endorsing the host as someone that anyone can trust, be friends with, especially their own followers, or as a myriad of other things to their followers (but like I said, they do end up doing such things to tow the party line even if they hate the person that they endorse). On the other hand, you're making an endorsement which is something quite different from guilt by association. Like Art_Deco who has lauded Aristoshark, you consistently think well and publicly endorse individuals of problematic pasts (not just things they did on RJ but in their own lives for decades) to the extent that is diminishes aversion that other people might have for such individuals. In fact, it may make them trust them the way you do. And if you stop overlooking the obvious, you will realize that these individuals are some of the most malicious people you can ever come across.

And I think people should vet MuchMoreThanMuscle before thinking well of him and outright endorsing him to others... I guess I do have to actually respond to him in that one flirting thread and include some accusations (the guy frequently accuses me of things, so I need to start accusing as well, right?). They won't be as strong as the accusation I've made against Yourname2000, but when I do accuse, RJ seems quite different for a while, to say the least. Haha.

Cash was a mean spirited, venomous little bitch. The worst cyber bully wrapped in the body of a grown man. Maybe he met his match and got what he deserved… icon_twisted.gif

My last memory of Cash was him and Aristoshark incessantly attacking that guy dying of AIDS. The guy dying was definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer but easy to ignore.

The website has really changed a lot, and I can't help but feel partially responsible for it (or significantly responsible for it). But the change came with the culling of some of the most malicious of posters here (some of whom have been mentioned as "good people" by others already), and I think the website is better off this way. Despite my meanderings at times, and low post count, I actually have a large bite apparently... Except for the few political acolytes here and there (and a few others), the people who are left, have for the most part, collectively matured. Some people clearly haven't yet and that's why I was willing to call someone a "sycophant" the other day.

My other memory of Cash was a post he made, in the whats on your mind thread I think, where he said he admired Aristoshark for his ability to attack, tear down, and trash people. And he wasn't joking, as seen in the thread I reference above.

You are right. RJ has certainly cut down on the number of douchebags in the forum but not entirely. RJ was turning into this mean high school club where a lot of these users were trying to be 'alpha-dude'. Sounded quite fake to me then, it came off more like an attempt to compensate for typical gay stereotype.

This one guy I remember used to be quite rude. He was partly bald, receding hairline, his body was in good shape. I think his username starts with F. Firestone?

He's living with Pazzy in Newark. He calls Pazzy his husband but Pazzy just calls him breh so I don't think they're married. But they get invited to all the A list parties in private homes. Well, really, Cash makes sizable donations so people feel obligated to invite Pazzy too even though nobody really likes him so he just spends his time standing alone in a corner posting on his IPad.

Firebrand? Right-wing cynic? I'm not sure he hasn't come back under various guises since he flounced off.
