For those who are not part of Courage Campaign, help bring Our voices to the Court, in hopes of drowning out Ken Starr's rants!

Below is an insert from Courage Campaign,

"Yes, THAT Ken Starr. The prosecutor who led the campaign to impeach President Bill Clinton has filed a legal brief -- on behalf of the "Yes on 8" campaign -- that would forcibly divorce the 18,000 same-sex couples married in California last year before the passage of Prop 8.

News broke Tuesday that the state Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on March 5, and will then make a decision within 90 days on the validity of Prop 8 and these 18,000 marriages.

When Starr's legal brief went public in December, the Courage Campaign immediately launched the "Don't Divorce..." campaign, asking our members to send us pictures with a simple message for Starr and the Prop 8 Legal Defense Fund.

Those pictures, and the heartfelt messages on them, inspired blogger Paul Delehanty (also known as "kid oakland") to send us a suggestion: Would Regina Spektor allow us to put your pictures to the words and music of her hit song "Fidelity"? So, we asked her and she said yes, very enthusiastically.

Regina Spektor's song, in concert with your pictures, shines a beautiful light on the 18,000 couples that Ken Starr wants to forcibly divorce."

Brought tears to my eyes to see so many beautiful families pleading not to be forcibly divorced. Great video!

When Ken Starr was going after the Clintons, I was unhappy that such a thing was warranting investigations and invoking prosecutions. But a part of me sort of felt sorry for Ken Starr, in that I felt he was just a prosecutor doing the unrewarding job of pursuing the law, on the wrong side of history.

But then I got to know more about him, and the ideological choices he's made...that it's not the rule of law with him, but that he has an ideological agenda.

We must fight him, and the groups coordinating with him. They must be brought down and embarrassed, and they need to be given the same judgment that McCarthyists received.

It's not enough to show voters that gays are people too. Some sort of disconnect happens with normally rational people who just can't put themselves in gay people's shoes. They seem to understand the stakes better when the antagonist is shown to be a corrupt, hateful fraud. Voters/supporters are usually soft when voting FOR something. They get fierce when voting AGAINST something.

Saw the video earlier today. Some really great pictures in there! You can tell that most of those couples were ment to be together.

I'd thank you guys for your thoughts and contributed points of view. We as a community should fight this man and his 'brethren' in any way possible, with nonviolent means of course. We saw the happy couples in the videos, we want to be like them, our friends want to be like them; happy together! So join in any way to fight for our rights.

Thanks again for checking this thread out, information like this should be shared.

I think it just goes to show you that the man will jump on any cause that is extreme right and guarantees a bunch of photo ops. What an asshole!

We should fight to keep the couples together.

    But

If we lose, the backlash hopefully will be too overwhelming for any hatemongers to control or stifle icon_idea.gif

    VIVA LA GAYS!!!

That Such a Vacuous Human Being such as Ken Starr of all people comes into this fight is really no surprise to me

This has become the leading controversy of our time
and time will bring us victory ... but whether it is now or in decades is up to us and how much we fight against them to get it

    Thank you for posting
That's a fantastic video .... and should be seen by everyone

That's the kind of attitude we need! A kind that we'll work hard but know through our united efforts, gay community and our straight allies, that we can bring assholes like him, and ANY other regulations prohibiting our rights and happiness, down!

Here in Canada we have had gay marriage for several years. The world as we know it did not end. The sky did not fall. Life carried on as usual. All their doom and gloom did not happen. Straight people get married and divorced every day. We now have the right right too.

Why is the right wing is so obsessed with shutting us up and denying us equal rights?

I fully support all efforts made to stop the political right from turning back the clock.

Just got my e-mail from the campaign.

    What a terrific video.

And what a horrible man to want to force divorce upon those committed couples.
