According to a thorough review, Trump didn’t see fit to give any of those millions of dollars he is always bragging about to help out the men, women, children, cops, firefighters, office workers … hey, let’s just call them New Yorkers, who were killed or who lost someone in the terror of September 11th. In fact, his supposedly philanthropic foundation hasn’t given them a single penny.

Donald Trump’s charitable foundation has given just $1,000 to 9/11-related causes: report

He may be a hero to many of his 2016 presidential supporters, but when it comes to donating, Donald Trump appears to be a big zero.

..."Over the last five years, in excess of $102,000,000 has been contributed for such purposes by Mr. Trump," the statement read.

Still, The Smoking Gun report — which comprises two separate reviews of the foundation's finances (one from 1990 to 2010 and another that wraps in returns from 2011 to 2014) — found just one donation by the Foundation to a 9/11-related cause.

A $1,000 gift was given in 2006 to a "controversial Scientology program that administered treatment to firemen...

Had Trump got his way, there would be no 9/11 Memorial Plaza either. Had it been down to him, he'd probably have built some tacky crap-heap on the site with his name plastered across it.

Trump pushes own Ground Zero plan

Trump's plan would also mean scrapping the memorial plaza that was also chosen after an international design competition.

Good job he didn't get his way. It's one of the most fitting memorials I've ever seen.

If this doesn't highlight his hypocrisy even to hypocrite Republicans, they should be forced to exchange their elephant for a hyppo.

I haven't visited the memorial yet, having been visiting more by family circumstance the Phili area in the last few years but I purposely visited not long after planes were allowed to fly again and took mom to pay our respects while the seven whatever stories of remains was still burning. I didn't lose anyone personally but a cousin lost her husband's brother and an uncle alive then in finance lost a number of friends, colleagues and acquaintances. We stayed and stared for quite a while and then made our way mostly in silence up to Times Square.

Part of the power of architecture is to capture culture. It's not just all façade and the presidency of the United States ought not be a charade.

Manhattan doesn't need anymore skyscrapers. It is time to place a strict moratorium on all new construction in Manhattan. Transfer all skyscraper development rights to Brooklyn, Jersey City, and Newark. Manhattan needs more public open space and small scale development, not more unnecessary super tall skyscrapers.
