NYT: The league’s number of minority head coaches has hovered around the same number for several seasons. Research suggests this is due to a shortfall in hiring of minority assistant coaches.

The NFL power structure is exactly like the power structures in the rest of society, predominately white and Protestant with only a small number of other groups of people. Horribly sad but true.icon_sad.gif

Why aren't there TV Series called Whitish and White Love?

    Where's the White Entertainment Network?

When does the White Congressional Caucus Meet?

Why are there so few Whites on the NAACP Board Of Directors:

When does the White College Expo meet:

Cliche-monger much? Or, is it more a case of spontaneous sanctimony? Either way, at least it's claimed to be only "horribly" - not "horrifically" - true. But, I can tell you're still "appalled." icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes, we need more Japanese-American coaches in the NBA.

I look forward to the day when hiring means finding the best person for the job to meet the immediate & long-term needs of the organization instead of meeting some quota to fulfill some arbitrary racial distribution among employees. So there are many minority players in the NFL. That doesn't mean that all those world class athletes have the skill set to be world class coaches once their playing career is over. And let's be real, the ethnic representation among NFL athletes is far from representative of the general public at large.

Yes, but the point is that, statistically, groups should be represented in particular fields at the same occurrence as their share of the national population. This isn't about filling quotas, but about figuring out where along the line is there a barrier making it harder for individuals from certain groups to achieve academic, economic, and/or career advancements.

All these white groups will meet when white people are a minority of the population and have less political and economic influence than other groups, even in proportion to their population. Until then, calm down, and stop making false equivalencies.

Umm, because if the majority of NAACP's board directors were white, it would kinda weird, wouldn't it?

It would kind of be like that recent "women's rights conference" held in Saudi Arabia without any women.

Clearly you don't see that your question (about "more white people in the NAACP") is just as stupid as a male-dominated women's rights conference in Saudi Arabia. Bet you didn't refrain from criticizing the Saudis on that one.

Really? Is that a proven fact? Or just a feel good idea?

Who the hell cares? Funny how multiculturalists want to "see no color" yet they have no problem continually attacking whites.
