How has what the East Coast calls a Big Winter Storm "impacted" you? Stranded? With whom? Tried bundling, or just stuck shoveling your way out from all that white stuff? Do tell!

Although I live in NY, I'm far from NYC where the storm was to really hit hard. In my area, there is a O% chance of precipitation until Monday and then only a 10% chance. Warming up to the middle 40's is predicted on Tuesday with a good chance of rain. I've lived through decades of tough winters and very happy that this one seems to be much milder.

As a side note, while the drop of the cost of oil has done havoc on the Stock Market, it helps the common man on the street. I know there is a rippling effect to all of this but it just seems as if the oil barons won't be making their billions this year. However, not a win-win scenario at all. This all translates to a seasonal cost of $7,000 last season to which I think will be close to a $3,500 coast this season.

The very best approach to such a storm as this weekend is to simply stay home. Shovel the walk and driveway and stay warm and snuggled inside. icon_cool.gif

I see that except for NYC and LI, the snowfall estimates have dropped a bit. Still, nice to be inside on a snowy, windy day, with occasional forays outside to dust off the car or driveway. It's especially nice at night, when the street lights make everything glow, and the snow muffles most sounds except for shovels clanking on cement. Time for Cream of Tomato soup and grilled cheese!

Here are my thoughts on the CNN coverage of this storm:

28 inches here in Pa. I shoveled walls of snow so high that I can barely see the first floor from the street.

    I am sorry.
No more snow days ever. After living in Toronto for awhile, I am over it
