...Trump is a philosophically unmoored political opportunist who would trash the broad conservative ideological consensus within the GOP in favor of a free-floating populism with strong-man overtones...

...Some conservatives have made it their business to make excuses for Trump and duly get pats on the head from him. Count us out. Donald Trump is a menace to American conservatism who would take the work of generations and trample it underfoot in behalf of a populism as heedless and crude as the Donald himself.

Speaking of unmoored. Wasn't this Trump's yacht which he purchased from Sultan of Brunei?

Yeah, I know. And if that cartoon was drawn up at his death (I don't know the date of it), then wow, isn't that (fore)telling.

I've always been super impressed with political cartoonists, the good ones anyway. That they can so quickly synthesize all that information and then draw it into a picture. I think that's an amazing talent. So much so that when I was a little kid my mom took to a lecture of famous cartoonists, political and otherwise, because she knew I was into it. I've tried drawing a number of times but I'm just not good enough at that. I can picture it all in my head but it won't come out of my hands. Not unlike my penis on a good night.

The GOP Establishment wants open borders and free trade. They have completely turned off a huge number of Republicans and now they are reaping what they sowed.

The entire issue of National Review was devoted to one message: Trump is unfit to be president.
A who's-who of prominent conservatives is lining up to oppose him.
The GOP is at war with itself.

Point taken at least on the political opportunist aspect as sometimes all we get to choose is the lesser of two evils; however, with regard to party politics, not being anchored within a party while purporting to represent them seems somewhat problematic when they're about to spend a crap load of money on their candidate.

If this guy is adept at anything, it is getting people to work for him for free, while he's making America great again.
