Is anyone here a Christian and if so how do you reconcile with Jesus/God knowing that being LGBT is a sin and you will certainly go to hell? Do you just ignore the homosexual parts of the bible and continue living the life you want to live or do you battle with this as much I do?

I've only sinned in my thoughts which is just as bad as doing the sinful deeds, but I've always repented for every thought, no matter how vanilla it might of been.

He may be a troll and then again maybe not. I remember in my youth being very conflicted about being Christian and gay. I prayed and prayed and prayed. Fasted and made sacrifices. Even bargained with God. After no communiques from the Almighty, I assumed he didn't care that I was gay or didn't care I was going to Hell.

The OP (if in deed not a troll) will come to his own detente with God in his own time.

As I get older, I grow less and less patient with religion. Chuck it or fuck it, it's useless.

When I was younger Jesus spoke to me. I heard his voice clear as day and he guided me. We would have conversations together and he was my best friend. Around puberty (11 or 12) his voice got dimmer and dimmer as I became more self-absorbed and focused my time on school work, friends, and other impure things not related to the gospel. I only occasionally hear from him now and it sometimes makes me question if it's all in my imagination, but I know deep down it's not. I'm not sure why others never hear his voice as a child if they were truly saved.

    I am a Gay Christian.

I was raised Anglican (Episcopalian) and now attend a Lutheran church due to geography. Both of these Churches are very accepting. Christianity teaches people not to judge, to be kind, to be charitable and generous, and especially to be foregiving.

The question is not being Gay. The question is if you treat people badly. There are lots of other issues, like hate/prejudice, dishonesty, greed, etc. that are much bigger issues from a Christian point of view.

Some people have used religion to put other people down, and not just Gay people. Remember the whole Prohibition era when they went after people who drank alcohol? How about local bans on Rock and Roll music? Or people being shunned for being divorced or single mothers?

Those folks are not really Christian. To paint all Christians with that brush is prejudice and unfair.

    Just my two cents,

I laugh at the very idea of gay or bi christians, anyone hardcore into that age old storybook would know which verse(s) clearly state for a man not to sleep with another man. . . (I know, raised christian, not anymore)

Then again . . . Jesus may have been gay, think about it: his main followers were all male, he never showed interest in women, etc . . .

I don't have a problem with gay christians if they are in a sect that is inclusive. That doesn't mean I swallow that hocus pocus anymore.

I just ignore all of it. If you want to be content with who you are, believe in yourself instead.

I know many religious people who happen to be gay in India but most of them are Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Hindu. I also know a few Muslims and Christians who are gay and devoted to their religion but the number of non-religious gays of Muslim and Christian gays seem to be higher.
