    Well, Well, something positive icon_lol.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_redface.gif

Conservative activists have spent a generation building up their movement — and the Donald is ruining it all
    http://www.salon.com/2016/01/27/donald_trump_is_wrecking_the_conservative_movement_how_the_billionaire_is_exposing_its_most_toxic_secret/

No need for all that weak tea about the meek and the poor. And surely when it comes to their driving obsession with sexual morality and abortion, it just takes a real man to put his foot down. And it’s clear who is the Real Man in this campaign. Donald Trump is an Old Testament leader for a New Testament world.

According to this poll, evangelicals are flocking to Trump.

Perhaps the most puzzled by what they’re seeing is the conservative movement old guard who spent decades creating the organizations that in recent years have risen up to challenge the Republican elites for supremacy of the party. They have made great strides, primarying apostates, defeating RINOs and even taking out good conservatives just to show they could. They showed the entire country that they are willing to destroy the government itself if that’s what it takes to demonstrate their commitment to their principles. They take no prisoners, give no quarter. And finally, after decades of hard work and strategizing, they are on the verge of total dominance.

The Republican establishment is under a tremendous amount of stress right now. Donald Trump has the party functionaries running around like his personal factotums and the elected officials are all figuring out the angles to ensure they come out on the Donald’s good side. It’s possible it may not survive in the form we’ve come to know it.

But the conservative movement is equally under pressure. They thought their years of carefully growing and indoctrinating the right wing of the Republican Party had resulted in a common belief in a certain conservative ideology, strategic vision and commitment to a specific agenda. It turns out that a good number of the people they thought had signed on to their program just wanted someone to stick it to ethnic and racial minorities and make sure America is the biggest bad ass on the planet — authoritarian, white nationalism. If you’ve got a man who will deliver that you don’t need ideology. And he doesn’t need democracy.

The mystery is why all these smart conservatives didn’t see this coming. They unleashed this beast a long time ago with the hate radio and the media propaganda and the ruthless politics. It was only a matter of time before it turned on them.

Not sure about "positive", considering that to some extent we all share the punch bowl this turd is floating in. It is something of a relief to see some concerns being addressed, though.

Proper conservatism isn't the enemy of progress, however. If my enemy's enemy is my friend, and true conservatism is the enemy of this uprising, it's at least worth *considering* what it is they want to wipe out before they succeed.

But yes, I'm enjoying the occasional cheap laugh while I still can. ;)

It's OK. I just don't like to be the only one who does that. Actually, mine is leaving words.

    Speaking of killing gays:

The Sultan of Brunei (who passed a law to stone gays to death) gave $50K in jewelry, $1 million dollars in cash to the family foundation and threw a party in Hillary's honor:

The sultan is also Barack's "Good Friend":

Personally, I have no desire to see Hillary Clinton go to jail. If by some freak of nature she does get indicted, I hope Obama pardons her (like Ford did Nixon) and spare the country the drama.

I don't look at it that way. I just feel that this has been a witch hunt spun out of control. Did Hillary make some mistakes? It looks that way. Should she go to prison for it? I don't think so. It might cost her the election, but I don't want to see her in prison for bad judgement

Deliberately setting up a private server and having over 1300 classified emails on the server is not just bad judgement, but gross criminal negligence. I've worked in the industry for years and understand the seriousness of her actions. Absolutely not a witch hunt. The material she left on an unclassified machine includes human intelligence that can jeopardize lives.

Whatever. I still think it would be a sad day to see Hillary Clinton hauled off to jail.

I don't think she will go to jail because Obama will pardon her. Even if you don't understand the laws and associated procedures enough to see the severity of her offenses, it is interesting you have such sympathy for someone so dishonest, arrogant, and entitled.

Your "whatever" speaks volumes. And it is indicative of the mindset now - politics over common sense, reason, justice. Very sad for our country.

I'm sure that IF there is sufficient evidence against Hillary Clinton that she somehow knowingly violated the law and put the country at great security risk, then she will be indicted...and there will be a trial...and she will be dealt with accordingly depending on the verdict. Regardless, I'm not holding my breath that any indictment is coming, and if it is I'm not convinced she will be convicted. I still feel a lot of this should be filed under the column "Much Ado About Nothing", and that IF she were not running for President we likely wouldn't be hearing a word about it.

Hillary Clinton is quite the law and order gal when it comes to us little people.

Hillary Clinton 6/29/2004: "We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."
Hillary Clinton 9/2/2005: "I think it's time to send a clear message to what has become the most profitable sector in (the) entire economy that they are being watched."
Hillary Clinton 10/16/2015: Ban some guns and impose more gun control laws, in some cases without Congress’ approval.
Hillary Clinton 1/11/2016: Restore top tax rate to levels that haven’t been in place for 30 years.

If jail is the consequence for violating any of Hillary's new confiscatory tax rates and desire to protect ourselves....then why can't her far more serious violations result in some form of incarceration?

Petraeus was convicted for mishandling classified material and he was not running for President, and we heard about it. So there goes that excuse.

The "Much Ado About Nothing" is, to put it mildly, ridiculous. I hope your viewpoint is based on inexperience in dealing with classified material. I don't want to crosspost, so if you are interested, in recent posts in http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/4167119 I have links to the document she signed acknowledging the seriousness in protecting information and possibility of prosecution if mishandled. Also links on the section of the Espionage Act that deals with gross negligence, and the penalties involved. It should be noted that the act of setting up a private server and directing aides to use it was obviously overt.

I've been dealing with facts, but I'll offer an opinion on why she did all this, to the point of jeopardizing sensitive material. I believe she planned at the outset to trade favors as Secretary of State for money paid to their foundation and huge speaking fees for Bill. I don't know to what degree that will be uncovered, but I think there is massive public corruption on an unprecedented scale. Yeah - much ado about nothing.

I have no doubt that there are any number of ways this whole situation can be spun to create all kinds of wild scenarios -- true or not.

These investigations are being conducted by agencies under the Obama Administration, not Congress, so that kills the campaign timing conspiracy theory. Blame the Republicans for a conspiracy is the Clinton mantra, although that makes absolutely no sense in this case. It is the tip of the iceberg. If she is not convicted, that WILL be political because the violation is so clear. Democrats with any integrity or self-respect should be running from the Clintons.
