So you didn't watch it. That's exactly what didn't happen.

I read about it and that's exactly what I got from it. Nothing new so why glorify it?
I can't stand to look at Ms. Kelly and that haircut offensive. Mike Wallace is boorish and the fox crew is a mess. I liked what I read about the Trump event better.

Trump ditches debate for telethon-style rally

After the snarky comment from FOX on Tuesday I don't think Trump had any choice but to boycott the debate. Can you imagine CNN or MSNBC or ABC, CBS, or NBC making such a comment about the front-runner of either Party? Of course not.

I flipped back and forth watching both Trump and the debate. The debate fell flat, imo. The Seven Dwarfs. Christie did best, but was not great. Rubio, as always, was just too programmed and gave obviously rehearsed, canned answers. Comes across as a phony. Cruz was not impressive at all. Paul was OK. Bush still seemed overly nervous. And Kasich and Carson just sort of faded into the background. It was a ho-hum debate.

The Trump event was much better.

And frankly, imo, Trump was much better than the Seven Dwarfs and won the night.

I watched it, every minute of it.

It sorta showed me the campaign we coulda shoulda had if you know who hadn't gotten in to it.

Fox did the exemplary job they normally do, and Ms Kelly looked pretty damn hot to these eyes.

Correction, I don't hate anyone, but let's say we do have some differences. Plus, I actually agree with him on many subjects, but I find his behavior abhorrent.

And I am part of the GOP establishment I guess you could say, given that I was a county campaign chair for the reelection of Gerry Ford back in 76.

We already had those "substantive" debates in 2012 where Romney won the GOP battle, but lost the war..

If you want to understand why Trump is 20 points past his rivals, then read, Sold Out: How High-Tech Billionaires & Bipartisan Beltway Crapweasels Are Screwing America's Best & Brightest Workers by Michelle Malkin, John Miano. It's superbly researched with 100 pages of footnotes, arnd details the numerous scams and schemes used to get cheap labor into the US, and often subsidizing them with your tax dollars. It's the biggest con in US history, and the DC policy wonks are getting very, very rich off it.

This is not about H1-B visa programs....I can't even begin to describe the numerous "unreported" and "uncapped" Visa programs created to bring in throngs of new faces to displace well educated and qualified Americans, only because these new faces will work long hours for low wages. People look around in their own communities, and get a sense that something is very wrong. Trump is the only one who has the guts and integrity to speak up about it.....and is best equipped to change it.

    Here's the new normal:

    1) Substantive deep policy thoughts doesn't win elections. Neither does boring.

    2) Being an ideological purist doesn't win elections.

    3) Knowing how to manipulate the media is a big plus. (Anyone see the Trump event with Santorum and Huckabee on stage with Trump. Both of them had won Iowa caucuses. Media genius.)

    4) Knowing how to connect with people is a big plus.

    5) Knowing how to negotiate is a big plus.

    6) No candidate is an expert in all policy issues. If they are smart and get smart advisors and cabinet members and listen - more important.

Believe or not, I agree with you, to some extent. This election cycle leaves little doubt. I'd add one more:

7.) Scapegoating. Whether it's Muslims, gays, or the billionaire class, you can get votes if you pick a minority to bash and stick with it.

"Knowing how to negotiate is a big plus."

As I've long said, the above is very important, and something almost totally missing with regards to our current POTUS.

Still though Trump's behavior is abhorrent.

I disagree about his behavior being abhorrent. While I agree he has made some intemperate remarks (e.g. about McCain) and his bluntness is often a bit over the edge:
    - His totally anti-PC behavior is connecting with many
    - He has stated he would tone things down in future phases

McCain? Who hasn't he fought with? As I said ban him from Titter and he might be slightly more palatable.

HottJoe said7.) Scapegoating. Whether it's Muslims, gays, or the billionaire class, you can get votes if you pick a minority to bash and stick with it.

If you look at the facts regarding Muslims, many are starting to agree with his suggestion that we halt Muslim immigration until we can determine their status. See the following for what can happen and what Sweden is finally doing about it:
    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/4171345

ADDED: I actually agree with you on the scapgoating. Sanders is popular not only because he is amusing to watch and promises free stuff the country can't afford, but he scapegoats those who are wealthy. He suggests they are responsible for the status of the non-wealthy, and it plays well to some on the far left.

Unfortunately, same story all over the USA. Our country is being sold out from under us. My friends live one floor down from 15 Indians in a 2 bedroom condo. icon_eek.gif Literally 24/7 walking on their ceiling and a flood of cockroaches. The association can't get rid of them.

The DC policy wonks get rich off it, but everybody else is screwed. Read Malkin's book and you see where Obama has really ramped this up. Hillary's brother has his own "citizenship for cash" scheme going on. It's a total mess.

And shame on us for saying a word, lest Obama's trained monkeys (like the liberals on here) scream and call us racist, xenophobic, etc. But at least we can laugh at them since they're chumps who don't know any better.

You clearly know the score here. I think a lot of us know something is very wrong and screwed up.

This all dates back to Saul Alinski and the 60's liberals who hated everything America stood for, and dedicated their careers to destroying our culture from the inside. The "old" concept of immigration was that people came here wanting to be Americans and aspire to an Americam way of life. The Democrats have turned that concept on its head. I think voters are wanting this discussion, and this is why Trump is resonating.

Understood. We clearly have a revolution starting as so many of us are so sick of what's been going on.

I just hope Trump can come to terms that this isn't about him and stop these silly little cat fights that he gets into with almost everyone he talks with. Hopefully, it's all a show to garner media attention and he rights his ways when(if) he becomes the nominee.

If he wins, he has to be able to govern.

This happening all over the country. My friends live one floor down from15 Indians in a 2 bedroom condo. Literally 24/7 walking on their ceiling and a flood of cockroaches. The association can't get rid of them.

The DC policy wonks get rich off it, but everybody else is screwed. Read Malkin's book and you see where Obama has really ramped this up. Hillary's brother has his own "citizenship for cash" scheme also going on. It's a total mess.

And shame on us for saying a word, lest Obama's trained monkeys (like the liberals on here) scream and call us racist, xenophobic, etc. But at least we can laugh at them since they're chumps who are getting screwed.

We own several apartment complexes around here and you rent to two of 'them' and next thing you know, you have 20 of 'them' in the same unit.

I'm with you 100% on that.

It was a good sign to see Huck and Samtorum up on stage with him. He's got to unify the entire party if he wants to win, and that includes the Bush family.

Do any of Trump's supporters think he was being immature for snubbing the debates? I can't help but picturing him as an overgrown child, taking his trains and going home after the big mean blonde woman made him cry.
