You know, what I most appreciate about the situation is that as much as we go on about "Clinton's unsecured private email server", in reality, the "secure" State Department's server was breached during her time at the State Department whereas her private server was not.

So far, nothing of even dubious legality has been revealed, and there have been so many false alarms from the usual suspects that it's almost impossible to know what is true and what isn't which I think is the point.

Most people don't even have a cursory understanding of the classification system (which this thread shows), and that leaves them open to manipulation by the media and the right, both of whom always love a scandal with too many details to really understand. The people that trumpeted every FBI update and "Obama administration admission" will be the same fools to turn around and attack those same sources when Clinton is cleared of any wrong doing and no indictment ever materializes.

But that was never the point, because people got what they wanted by just chanting Clinton's emails over and over until it became an almost meaningless and frankly slanderous attack.

Unless she gets indicted, this controversy is already accounted for in her current support. Wake me when she gets indicted for some crime or other; until then absolutely no one gives a fuck unless you already hate her.

    It's such a non-issue.

But I guess after 8 years of Obama having largely no scandals, and the GOP in a burning shambles, they need to glom onto this one ray of hope.

Republicans are more organised with their messages and live in a fantasy world.

In Republican land, it's common knowledge to almost all republicans at every level that Hillary is essentially a spy and Obama let Benghazi happen for some political purpose. This is the party whose frontrunner spent most of the past 4 years demanding to see the president's passport. Think of how crazy that is that he's now one of their most serious candidates. Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin. Let me say again, Sarah Palin.

Did you miss the above? Sarah Palin.

The problem is the media is lazy and interested in only cash. If Fox news is blabbing on about something, the rest of the media covers it because it's a game to them, any story is a good story if it sounds important. Political stories allow the media to pretend as if they themselves are important and allow their viewers to pretend if watching the news about these important stories is important....when it's all just theatre. If Kanye West does something funny or stupid it'll bump whatever e-mail story back a few spots in the line-up.

I think the problem here is, people still take the network media serious. Still consider them "journalists" to be respected above a Jay Leno or Jimmy Fallon or whoever. Consider the nightly news to be a show with more gravity than Family Guy, when it's not. It's selling cars and beer and life insurance like any other.

And you think Hillary would have told you if it HAD been breached???

Her server was subject to an existing Congressional subpoena at the time she decided to have it erased. Destruction of evidence?

And the denials coming from the Clinton camp and Obama's assertion that there was no classified information on Hillary's server are not "manipulation" from the left, huh?

Does the "Saturday Night Massacre" mean anything to you? Because if she isn't indicted, history is going to repeat itself.

Like many conspiracy theories, just because you can convince yourself of a motive that suits your ends, doesn't mean you still don't need evidence to support you.

Come back when something actually happens.

Sleep soundly; Obama's DOJ will never prosecute her or any fellow traveler. Just look at Michael Brown's stepfather, who got off scot-free after urging his fellow black Fergusonians* to burn that city on national TV. But, I do agree that the "Rodney King effect" is at play here; we're all gradually becoming inured to her - and other politicians', on both sides of the aisle - malfeasance to the point where it doesn't matter to many. I'm with Bob Dole on this one, as on most crimes, regardless of who commits them: "Where's the outrage?"

Well, I'm not a Democrat or a liberal, in fact 2014 was my first election and I happily voted for Bruce Rauner for Governor and Jim Oberweis for Senate; I am not *thrilled* about Hillary Clinton, but I guess that doesn't matter in your black and white, us-versus-them world.

Anyways, that's the best you can come up with? Can't even debate a subject without resorting to attacks?

Southbeach has never needed facts to create a stink. The simple fact that she's a Democrat is all the reason he needs to throw stones at her. If she were a Republican, he would not be saying a damn word about this.

Like if I was spamming a gay dating/hook-up site with political shit and "LOL UR A DEMOCRAT!!!!". You're not worth engaging since you can't see to rationally debate. My first ignore. Bye.

I don't know, the e-mail whining is strange. It's hyperbolic enough that they aren't likely to move on to anything more emotional any time soon, but it's boring enough that it's easy to note the changes in shrillness from week to week without having to pay attention. It's a pretty convenient Republican butthurt barometer, and every time the predictions fail to come true you know you're safe tuning it out for another week. Makes it a lot easier to go on with our lives without risking losing track of what the idiots are doing.

I'll be more annoyed when the story changes significantly enough that I have to pay more attention than occasionally following the chain back to another untrustworthy source. I'd be mildly concerned if there were actual serious discussions of strategy and governance. This all just reeks of insecurity though, and when the enemies of gay rights and human dignity are frightened about their prospects, there's hope.

One of my favorite news media moments was when a network news radio station did a story on how the public was sick and tired of hearing about Bill Clinton and the Monica Lewinski scandal. Talk about beating a dead horse; they were doing a story on how dead the story was.

So has anyone heard a similar news item about this email scandal? (I don't watch tv and don't get a newspaper.)

That was just an affair. Mishandling of classified docs is totally different.
