Life terms for killer of 2 Baltimore gay men

"Quinton Decarlo Bass, who was convicted in the 2012 killings of two Mount Vernon gay men, was sentenced to two life sentences plus 45 years by Circuit Judge Timothy Doory on Jan. 21, according to the Baltimore Sun. Alex Ulrich and Larry Peterson were gunned down outside the latter’s bed and breakfast, which is next to the Belvedere Hotel."

This is good news but the horribly sad fact is that Baltimore will always be a very dangerous city unless there are major structural changes in city government and in its public school district. It seems that Baltimore wants to keep violently depopulating itself.

Too bad Maryland abolished the death penalty. Murderers deserve to swing from the end of a rope, like before the country got all too touchy feely sensitive about not exterminating them..

They had the gas chamber at the old Maryland Penitentiary on the eastern edge of downtown Baltimore. Almost all the inmates on death row were products of Baltimore, a wickedly violent city that has lost most of its heavy industry to cheaper locales in both the sunbelt states and Mexico. It is also ranked as a very undereducated city which just fuels its urban crisis causing the city to decline even further with no end in sight.

I don't see the point in keeping murderers alive ... why to they get to continue on with their pathetic lives when they've taken another?

I would never vote for the death penalty IF the conviction was entirely based on eyewitness. But other corroborating evidence, such as prints, motive and especially DNA....yeah, I say let's fire up old sparky!

Because Death Penalty is a grave injustice to human rights. Evidence can be created and people could be hushed forever. Death Penalty is just another way for governments around the world to silence many whistle blowers and anti-government agents.

You might want to rethink the DNA part.
