OK, college football is behind us, Super Bowl is almost upon us, and it's time to make the Great Prowl Shift from fullbacks to forwards. So here, in week 13, is how the teams are ranked. I'm pleased that Duke is nowhere to be found, and that the overall mix is pretty mixed up, which bodes well for the NCAAs in March.

    Thoughts, gentlemen?

    Buddy Hield FTW!

I feel like we could take the top 13 or so, shake them around and spill them back out and it wouldn't be much different!

Iowa (the state) is where #1-ranked teams go to lose. The B1G has been impressive so far, moreso than in recent years.

Agree re: B1G, but disappointed my Illini aren't among them. So, I go into Michigan mode, or hype the Hoosier Hysteria by following Butler and Valpo.

Buddy Hield is a great player and Oklahoma has been playing great, but I don't think Oklahoma has enough depth to go the distance. I think you'll see them start to struggle later in the season. I'm a South Carolina fan and I'm looking forward to us making a nice tournament run this year.

Mid-day Saturday thoughts: Nice to see UVA win, and Louisville, too - kinda - especially after the self-imposed sanctions. I can certainly feel the frustration of Messrs. Lee and Lewis for being punished for events that occurred prior to their arrival. Way to go, Coach!* What is so friggin' hard about ensuring your staff doesn't supplement their players' training regime by hiring escorts and strippers?

Thought Purdue would upset MD, but it was not to be, and we paid the price by being forced to endure surely one of the longest - and most pointless - final 30' in NCAA regular season history. BUT, VERY COOL that SCarolina upset TX A&M! I'm afraid that Johnny Football's big mouth and matching ego have spoiled me on that school, if it's military academy atmosphere didn't do so decades ago.

On to NC/ND and IU/PSU! After a perfunctory effort to commence my taxes ... mebbe. icon_cool.gif

Sunday update: Great ND upset over NC! Too bad it wasn't Duke they beat! Sorry to see IU lost to PSU, but they just didn't seem all that much into it.

Thanks for setting up the RJ bracket on Yahoo! Nice to see IU get back into shape, and Valpo and Purdue, too. Indiana IS the home of great hoopsters! My other favorites this year include UVA, and recently hapless Kentucky, who should come back IF given a chance. NC, Cinci, Xavier, SD State, WI, MD, Bucknell, and OR also get my nod during the tournament. I love this time of year; bring it on!
