Wow. I haven't paid much attention to television in the last year, but this seems like a big leap to me. (Did everybody else already know, and just didn't tell me? Like the paid holidays at wurk? But I digress...)

It seems that if you have the right type of WiFi-enabled multi-color LED lighting in your home, it can synch up with the scripts of TV shows playing on the SciFi channel to create the right ambiance for the scene. icon_confused.gif

The future is fucking, now, man. Is this cool, or creepy, or what?

By XXXmas, the PPV channels should be able to interface with your WiFi-enabled butt plugs and flesh jacks! There will be no need for other people whatsoever. icon_twisted.gif

Oh, excuse me... I've just invented WiFi-enabled nipple-twisters. Must rush off to see my patent lawyer.

The only parts of this that are truly new are the relative inexpense of the components and the widespread adoption of the idea. The security holes, the data collection/reporting, (edit: the legal restrictions,) and the unsuitability for anything truly useful are pretty much the same as ever.
