I think this is a rather obvious setup. I'm surprised Amy Dickinson fell for it. A rather dated picture of Ray Liotta? With those clothes? And GLOVES? Who provided that ridiculous prop?

The scenario seems too ridiculous, even for nut-job Right Wingers. Or am I making too much allowance, for the Wacko US Right?

the picture is just a prop, not a pcture of the family that is spoken about.

and about the mother' well she's stupid and ignorant, not the only one in this world unfortunatly, poor kid.

Coincidentally, I'm embarrassed by bigoted conservatives every day.

What this woman really meant to say is "I am ashamed of my visceral acceptance for the bigotry expressed towards my son from the homophobes within my church"... the woman is not ashamed of her son, she is ashamed of herself for being weak, and she is projecting it onto her son.

My immediate family was never like that. But my Catholic aunts were. One of the old biddies has some function at the parish and lives with in site of the church. Even at my dad's funeral they wouldn't acknowledge me. It was deliberate and obvious. I come from a huge Polish family. GM had 15 kids....so there were all levels of Catholic guilt.

I sure as he'll didn't let them affect me. Small minded people in small towns are in their own universe. They thrive on gossip and manipulation.

This letter doesn't seem real to me.
I don't think the mother would admit to forgetting the child's birthday three years in a row even if she did need to convey her suspicious of her child's supposed "revenge".

Good observation. A tell-tale sign of a phony letter to this Amy advisor. A real mother would portray herself entirely as the injured party, with no personal faults. And she certainly wouldn't have forgotten her own son's birthday 3 years in a row. And then admit it.

    Dear Mom,

Yes, it is very sad that your son is such an embarrassment. The very best thing that you can do to rid yourself of this terrible shame is to give him a very lrge amount of money, and perhaps buy him a house in San Francisco, and tell him that you love him but that he should live apart from you. You could them share your noble sacrifice with your friends and be admired, bitch.

    Sincerely,

    Amy

He also admits here, and in other of his posts, that he isn't gay. And he's obviously a gay-hostile homophobe. Which violates a condition of membership on RealJock. He's a gutless, cowardly troll, hiding behind the anonymity of the Internet.

He's just some turd who's been thrown off the site before (probably several times). Let him waste his time - 90% of RJers have put him on ignore anyway.

I doubt you'll have long to wait.

If Bonifacius had a frontal lobotomy, you'd be the result.
