Republican lawmakers and presidential candidates
positioned their hardonshardened their positions on Sunday on blocking a move by President Barack Obama to fill the Supreme Court seat left by the late conservative Justice Antonin Scalia
Scalia, 79, died just hours before at a West Texas resort. The cause of death has been determined to be a torturous heart attack. Which was surprising because who knew he had a heart? Fortunately, Scalia was a fan of the torture so that all went well.
Shortly after news of Scalia's death--the body was still warm --Republicans vowed not to act on the vacancy until Obama's successor takes office next January.
A nuclear option was proposed during an emergency meeting on the Senate floor to consider cryogenics. Details pending.
