I am a vegetarian and was interested in trying either a low carb or paleo diet for a few months prior to heading out on my cruise. Obviously may nain concern is calorie limitation. Low carb or paleo diets are tough enough when you can consume fish and meats up as a vegetarian it feels almost impossible. I'm aware that eggs are a good substitute but I can only eat so many eggs. Currently I workout 5-6x per week (30-40 min cardio and 45 min weights) so I need to make sure I'm getting adequate fuel.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do?

If low carb is off the table, is there another avenue I should explore?

Paleo diet is not a calorie restricted so you can eat as much non man made food as you want . After Doctor Wahl contracted MS and only had a few months to live , she had to realize that to recover she would have to stop punishing her body for her political beliefs ( vegetarianism) .Google The Wahl Protocal.

Hemp protein powder. Pea protein powder. Egg protein powder. Make sure you find the right brand with a low or no carbs. And look for bulk orders online to save on cost.

Eat a fuck load of protein powders and healthy fats. Are you taking enough b-12 supplements? Are you spacing them out?

There is no reason you can't do a low carb diet and still be a veggie person. Just eat a lot of low carb veggies, cut out fruit for a few months or limit yourself to fruits like blueberries and blackberries in small amounts. Make sure you are taking adequate vitamin support.
