Conservative Pox News: ...You say now that the Supreme Court has ruled that same-sex marriage is the law of the land and that any politician that talks about wanting to amend the Constitution is just playing politics so are you saying it's time to move on?

THUMP: NO. I'm saying this. It has been ruled upon. It has been there (quoting, I presume, from Abraham Lincoln's now famous "It has been there" speech). If I'm elected, I would be very strong on putting certain judges on the bench that I think maybe could change things.

That from the mouth of the horse's ass or elephunt's ass as the case may be.

Nice job leaving out the whole part in the middle where he said it should be up to the states and a lot of people agree with that statement. My state legalized gay marriage way before this ruling.

I doubt he'll live very long if he were to get elected. Of course, I'll probably just move to another country.

No. Clearly this is a fair case of the Inalienable Rights and Separation of Powers which our Founding Fathers in their great forethought built into The Constitution and our Bill of Rights, limiting the reach of the legislative body of elected representatives in order to protect against the tyranny of the majority.

We do not require States' permission to be fully human beings. Nor can they legitimately--but only by despicable act--take our rights away.

GOD given rights (Life, Liberty and pursuit of Happiness) are not issued by the states so, properly, our marriage equality was a matter for The Court to correct that injustice where we had been for all these lifetimes wronged.

You think you have the power to vote on my Human Rights? No. Who in hell do you think you are that you'd think you get to vote on my Human Rights. Why, so you can rob us of our dignity, of our God given rights? Not happening without a fight!

    "Eternal vigilance"~~Thomas Jefferson
    "Fuck you"~~somewhat less ineloquently, me

That GOPers can't even grasp their own dignities and Human Rights with their own stupid little GOP minds does not put up for grabs my Human Rights by the grubby little greedy hands of the GOP. I say little hands because it makes your dicks look a normal size.

And that's in our founding (well, not the part about the penis) :

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life,_Liberty_and_the_pursuit_of_Happiness
"Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" is a well-known phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence.[1] The phrase gives three examples of the "unalienable rights" which the Declaration says has been given to all human beings by their Creator, and for which governments are created to protect.

I would not have suggested that but I did wonder it myself. Were he oddly against all odds elected, I'd not feel inclined to leave on that alone. Rather, I'd wonder if a US presidency with something like him in power might not make it more dangerous for Americans abroad because he could fuck up those countries and they could take that out on an American expat.

I do however consider relocating overseas anyway and were he to roll back our Human Rights, I'd certainly include that situation in my decision making.

I've lived decades, paying my taxes, participating in society, in family, in work, in social life, in volunteering, and at the civic level all without my Human Rights. To see them now trampled just as we've gained them, I don't know that I'd want to remain in my home country that would treat me like that. I am tired of this shit.

That's right, that poor woman we've heard he's trying to financially ruin just for fighting him for scamming her.

    That for president? Yikes!

Seems the GOP wants to replace the Freedom of Speech with the Freedom to Thuggary.

So you guys are willing to throw the country into irreversible debt and economic chaos (which is coming anyway) by electing Sanders because Trump says he would "strongly consider" appointing a justice that is conservative.

You guys are dumb as fuck.

To throw? Where have you been? Bush and Company already did that.

So you think Hillary is any different fiscally than a Republican? Or you think Bernie would what, turn this country during his presidency into a Socialistic state given the Senate and the Congress still in place at last look, rather than just steer us towards being a more compassionate country with still the most powerful armed forces in the history of the planet?

You is da' one dumb as fuck and spineless ta'boot.

Duh, the Supreme Court has never overturned a major decision from a previous Supreme Court. Example: The previous 9 judge court with 5 conservatives never overturned abortion.

Get the terms correct, the US does not have "marriage equality" since the current ruling does not protect intra family, bisexual marriage or polygamy.

America had its time in the sun and now the world's economy is China's. No political solution to this.

    keep things simple:
Lets keep the ever so recent changes in marriage, DADT, etc in tact. Continue to improve health care. Vote Clinton or Sanders. Dosnt matter which one as no big change is possible in the US.

Or maybe you get all of your news from Fox.

I'm willing to entertain the idea that you're smart. Picture this: Trump's stance on marriage equality isn't the only piece of his--what the fuck is his plan, has he even elaborated that for you--policy statements that we object to.

With what money will he build his big, beautiful wall? That won't have to be paid for with taxes, right?

When he deports 12 million immigrants (actual number not available), he'll have the money to do that from--I'm guessing--a magic Trump fund? The legal challenges alone will take decades, and lawyers aren't cheap.

What is his plan to take out ISIS? Some heretofore untried special Trump forces, who work twice as hard as the military we're employing now? What's his plan?

He, Hillary and Bernie actually agree on TPP!

Will he have a health care plan? I'd be interested in the single payer or public option. Seems he was into that at one time too. But it wasn't too expensive for us to implement then, when it was his idea?

Admit it, you're in love with him. He could shoot you in the middle of 5th Avenue and you'd thank him for it. Were you a battered wife in another life?

Taxes, which are the main source of federal, state and local government revenues, pay for buildings, public education, highways, airplanes, rockets, road signs, and the salaries of millions of government employees. Large amounts of tax revenues are raised from levies on personal incomes, including investment income. The federal income tax is structured to tax different levels of income at different rates, on a gradually increasing scale.

Taxes are an important aspect of nearly every person’s life. Your paycheck is adjusted for taxes. Contributions to charitable organizations are no doubt influenced by the expected tax savings. Taxes affect the cost of owning a home, and tax considerations probably also influence the votes that are cast in local, state and national elections. Taxation of investment income is also an important consideration when deciding upon which investments to purchase, especially if you earn a substantial income that’s taxed at a high rate.

Only without governments would there be no taxes; therefore, without taxes there would be no governments. Taxation is one of the several ways by which governments raise money to pay for the goods and services that they are called on to provide. Governments lack the major sources of revenue available to other sectors of the economy and must therefore rely on taxes to finance the majority of their expenditures. Unlike businesses, governments generally produce very few goods and services that can be sold, especially at a profit. In addition, governments don’t have wage and investment income as do individuals and families. Without these sources of income, governments have little choice but to finance their spending needs by assessing businesses as well as individuals.

Governments are continually searching for additional funds to pay for the needs of their citizens, businesses, and bureaucrats. At the local level, taxes support spending for schools roads, libraries, athletic facilities, fire and police services, and the salaries of county and municipal employees. States collect taxes for highway construction and upkeep, public colleges, buildings, and law enforcement. The federal government levies taxes in order to provide its citizens with an interstate highway system, a capable military force, health services, an Internal Revenue Service, thousands of parks and monuments, and scores of other things.

Taxation, however, is not the only means by which governments finance their spending. They also levy a variety of user and service fees to pay for parks, bridges, transit systems, parking complexes and sports stadiums, where the users rather than taxpayers are expected to bear the operating costs of the facilities. These fees, however, are frequently supplemented by special taxes. In addition, governments at all levels regularly borrow funds to augment their tax revenues. In the 1980s and 1990s, the federal government borrowed billions and billions of dollars annually to pay for expenditures that exceeded the billions and billions of dollars that it took in from tax revenues.

In summation, although unpopular (and many may argue, unfair), taxes are a necessity. The standard of living of a modern society demands it; governments must collect the revenues in order to provide the goods and services that their citizens need, want and demand.

Of course Republicans would never support any taxation.
Their concept of socialism is simply scurrilous. (roll those S's).

Marriage Equality ranks about as high to the righties.

YOU ARE WRONG to say I edited or twisted anything in the making of this thread. In fact, if you weren't so stupid in thinking you are such a good judge of character, perhaps you'd have noticed--& I even the fuck laid it out in another thread, you moron--that this information was taken from one of YOUR OWN CONSERVATIVE media outlets. Still selective? Asshole!

Never mind that the YouTube'd interview derives from one of YOUR CONSERVATIVE media TV stations SO YOU ARE DOUBLY WRONG. Never mind that the youtube was uploaded by youtube user Tea Partier SO YOU ARE WRONG ON THAT ONE POINT ALONE THREEFOLD.

It's like your stupidity is in competition with your chins.

Started a thread to bolster my ratings? LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE WRONG ON THAT COUNT TOO. Are you fucking insane as well as demented? Obviously the thread was started as a parady of an SB thread. Further, when in the fuck did you ever notice me coveting the congeniality award? Fuck you fatso--and I just added that for extra points towards my ratings, dope.

Trump and all the other GOP candidates are AGAINST equality for gay Americans, so they can eat sh*t and die.
Hateful bigots trying to divide America for their own political gain. It's the same old story of every fascist movement, which is what the Republican party has become, sadly.

Exactly. He isn't going to do jack shit about gay marriage if he is elected. Trump is engaging in this political theater to garner up the possible maximum number of votes. Than he is just going to throw all the narrow minded bible thumping screwballs under an approaching bus by most likely saying that gay marriage is now a non issue and that there are far more important things to worry about.
