Just managed to find his actual platform: http://hueyfischer.com/. Its about 10 sentences long and covers very few specifics about Texas issues...
His 3 main points are that Texas public education on the university level has been mismanaged, that there is a hateful agenda against his family background (formerly undocumented mother and Jewish father from Brooklyn - effectively verbatim from his site. I'm gonna assume he's focusing on the undocumented worker part), and Texas has insufficient access to contraceptive and abortive care (I'm gonna ignore the fact that he supposedly depended on Planned Parenthood for health care as a healthy 23 year old gay man)
Speaking from my experience:
Texas has one of the best public university systems in the country with very low relative tuition rates and great support for training great engineers and scientists especially considering how large the program is. Not really sure what he means by it being "mismanaged" as he gives 0 details.
There is quite a bit of stigma against undocumented workers but Huey doesn't give his opinion on how this should be tackled only that there is a "hateful agenda".
It is definitely a problem that large rural areas in Texas don't have access to abortion care so I'll give that to him as a plus.
IMO this guy shouldn't be elected because hes woefully unqualified.
