I'm sorry, but this is the worst looking logo I have seen in a very long time. Everything about this new logo is wrong. What are your opinions?

The Met can use whatever logo it likes. As far as I'm concerned, in terms of scope and presentation, it is the best single art museum in the world (and I've seen all of the major competition).

Bitch please. We're trying to show how much of a discerning creative we are.

I don't like the new one at all. No style or thought was put into the design. The old logo was classy, the new one isn't.icon_sad.gif

I think if you were to combine major elements of certain London art museums; the V&A (decorative arts and design), the National Gallery (paintings), the British Museum (human history, art and culture) and a bit of the Royal Armouries in Leeds (arms and armour) you would end up with something to rival the Met. As an art museum under 'one roof', however, I don't think it can be beaten. I would put the Louvre in a very close second place.

That's my point. A museum of this superb quality should have a logo that reflects it's image.

I too prefer the old logo, but I don't think the new one is bad and I'm not sure the graphic in your link shows it at its best.

Whenever you get a change to a long established logo like this, there is always going to be some push back. Doubtless the same thing happened in 1971, when the current logo came along.

Worst logo you've seen in a long time?

You don't remember the London 2012 Olympics?

There are many books devoted to logos; whole books that are just collections, often without any explanation or caption other than the name of the company that used it. Some of the fun ones are devoted to specific periods or styles. I'm always impressed by how inventive and creative graphic artists can be. I've seen worse and better than this one.

Its like everyone is going on a rebranding marketing image not sure why…but just like Uber changing its brand which is causing controversy as well.
