I'm guessing it's a term older men use to describe younger men.

Just ignore these silly animal labels. Not sure how they became a thing.

It is a sub guy in the leather world whose goal is to be owned. They identify themselves by wearing a collar and sometimes a leash to denote they are owned.

I am a bit confused about what it means when someone sends you a "woof" message. Is that (logically) referencing this same thing or is it a more generalized greeting in the leather world?

I say WOOF when someone gives me a big chubby. Does this make me a pup?

I think it means they are panting and excitable @ your pics.

A pup is a very specific thing. It is a very submissive guy who obeys his "Trainer" and is typically young and masculine. It's a subset of the leather community.

Gosh, some of you sure don't get out much.

Yes, it is a very specific thing. And it's a relatively recent subculture to the leather scene. It has nothing to do with "Woof".

A picture's worth a thousand words... here's a few that should get the point across.

I don't think these dom/sub fetish pics describes a pup. I think it is young version of a bear. Chubby wearing flannel.

I thought a pup was a really young (but of legal age) gay guy. At 21 the OP could be a pup.

That depending on the speaker's interests, could include elements of disdain, desire, envy, or merely the human characteristic of wanting to label other people in categories.

I thought a cub was a young bear, and an otter a thin hairy guy. I never quite got pup. WTF other animal terms can we use to further debase ourselves, lol.

As I said above, I thought a pup merely meant a young gay guy. And I don't know if that's debasing. I find it kinda cute and endearing. But of course, it's all in the perception of the person hearing it, and in the mind of the person speaking it.

But I gotta tell yah, I haven't heard pup or puppy used for years. Some of these terms are regional, and generational.

Holy shit, I'll NEVER denounce anyone else's preference and not that I haven't seen pics like these before, but this I just don't understsnd.
I don't see how being on a leash is appealing not a turn on!
