what shows would you consider "gay TV?"...and why do/don't any of these interest you?

I'm kinda realizing I'm somewhat out of touch with mainstream "gay TV shows" guys watch. I'm not talking about real gay shows like Ellen or the defunct Noah's ark...a show that was actually gay oriented.

It seems now, Everytime I meet a guy they'll talk about a TV show I have never heard of or watched, and they look at me like some sort of TV-less peasant. Even though I have 4 TVs lol.

I'm trying to get into watching "Scandal" as that seems to be the most talked about show every time it's in season. But, other than the lead actress what's her name from the movie for colored girls...I tend to just drift off and get kinda bored of the whole thing. Not sure how some gay guys get so wrapped up in the plot of the show beyond the occasional salacious sex scenes

I tend to like shows that are scary or reality based, or just plain vulgar lol. Not necessarily sexual though. But most the ones I like are on HULU and Netflix, And non of the shows on basic TV interests me becaused it's all censored. And there's so many good actors in some of these crime scene shows...but I don't watch it because they're not original and all follow the same CSI plot

Flaked with Will Arnet on Netflix is a fun romp. The guys think they're straight but they got a sweet bromance goin' on. They had a male actor go full frontal but the women never get down any further than a bikini. Quite the switchup, eh? And why do the men get all the shower scenes? Ooh, check out Cooler when Chip gets him out of the shower. icon_wink.gif Waitin' for Season 2 here!

    P. Allen Smith's Garden show. He's not bad looking, and in decent shape, but he needs to butch it up about ten notches.

Cocksucking with Faggy McAss TakerUpper, that one is pretty gay. I was actually pretty upset when the lead character, Mr.Faggy McAss TakerUpper, came out of the closet. I was like "great, another example of the liberal media corrupting our youth"....here i thought Mr.Faggy was just an eccentric Vet who had an unusual method of healing roosters in rural communities.

    buddycat saidThe Golden Girls reruns.

I used to have gin martinis around 1 PM in Seattle, at a lovely gay bar. The bartender Larry knew exactly how I like them.

They had a curved wall with about 20 TVs, pre-flat screen in the 1990s. On which they showed Golden Girls reruns, all 20 or so playing together. I had never watched the show when it was first aired, I was in the Army and too busy for TV of any kind. Except maybe CNN news when I got home late, to find out what had happened in the world while I was immersed in other issues.

I found the GGs a revelation, and wonderfully entertaining. And sorry it was out of production by the time I discovered it. I'd sit there with my martini and smile. Always just one, that I'd make last an hour (I'm notorious for being the slowest drinker anyone ever saw).

And then I'd get on my motorcycle and ride a few blocks to a considerably cruder leather bar, The Cuff, where they let me park my bike on the sidewalk next to the door. A door that had no name, nor anywhere on the plain, windowless brick facade, just a pair of silver handcuffs attached to that green metal industrial door.

Inside I'd have just a beer or 2, and get hit on the whole time, mostly because I was in my Harley riding leathers. And there, instead of the GGs, I'd watch gay porn on their bar TVs. And frankly, I found the Golden Girls more entertaining. But then I always prefer comedy.

A curious daily routine I had in Seattle, when I wasn't away camping, fishing and riding for weeks at a time in the summer. But memories of watching the Golden Girls on that wall of TVs is always part of what I think when I remember Seattle.

I watch all the DC superhero shows (Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow) and Walking Dead and Game of Thrones.

I can't be bothered to watch drama shows full of scandals and sex plots, even if it does involve gay action, because it just reminds me that I'm not getting enough in real life icon_rolleyes.gif

I watch TV for escapism, and the more "realistic" it is, the more it puts me off.

And, you provide it in spades; you're a regular laff riot. When did you make the great jowl shift from Martinis at 1 to Bloody Mary's at reveille? Nothing like a quick spin around the hills of Seattle on a motorcycle with a glow, 'specially with a few beer chasers to wash down, if not off, the porn, or was it the patrons' paws? I wouldn't really consider "Ellen" to be a "gay show" but more of a "straight soccer mom/homemaker" show, that seems to be her target audience.

When that show first came on I watched it but quickly realized it wasn't for me and stopped.

I don't watch much TV (well, NO TV, I don't have an actual TV on purpose) but I do watch Game of Thrones when it's on, Bates Motel, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Real Time with Bill Maher, The Amazing Race. Everything else I watch on Netflix.

    Gay TV? um. . .

will & grace, ellen, queer as folk, metropia, glee, golden gays (is that still on?), torchwood, property brothers (actually a gay couple, not related), jamie oliver. . .

some shows like DS9 and king of the hill made gay references before. . .

"Looking" on HBO was a good show. They're making a movie.
