Today, 30 Americans were murdered, 90 died in a car accident, and another 1500 from cancer.

I wonder, of those who died in a car accident, how many were involved (either as victims or perpetrators) in drunk driving, texting, or talking on the phone?

Are you fucking kidding me? So if someone were to walk up to your mother, stab her in the gut and kill her, you'd just calmly say "yeah but someone, somewhere is dying of natural causes?" I know what you're trying to say but you fail big time. Comparing a deliberate act of murder to an accident or death by natural causes is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How do you think a family member of one of the victims would feel if they were to read your post? Please learn some sensitivity.

In India, 8.4 million people die every day which is 23000 people every day or 959 deaths per hour or 16 deaths per minute.

I am with Radd, being deliberately killed is not the same as dying accidentally or dying of natural causes.

Who really cares about the sensitivity it's the stupidity that bothers me. There is a group of people, a large group, actively trying to destroy the freedoms we have and enslave us to their warped world view. These people literally could not be more committed to their cause, they're openly declaring war on countries and armies infinitely more powerful than them and are willing to die and for the most part are immune to bribery. Bin Laden walked around for a decade with a 50 million dollar price on his head.

I agree cancer needs to be taken more seriously, far more seriously but even something like cancer isn't trying to acquire its own nation with nuclear weapons.

    It's a big country, someone's gotta die.

Still doesn't make singing John Lennon songs at terrorists any less fucking stupid.

Its' also mot just the fact that people were killed. Europe is sacrificing itself on the bloody altar of multiculturalism. The experiment has failed, and societal retardation is setting in.

I think it is more useful to compare European terrorism deaths with US gun homicides, given that the American Right are desperate to portray Europe as some sort of unruly Islamist terror haven, while they conveniently ignore the gun terror on their own doorstep.

Of course, whatever statistic you use, the firearms homicide rate in America eclipses the terrorism homicide rate in Europe, every time. Speaking of perspective, however, your chances of getting killed in a terrorist crime in Europe or in a gun crime in the US are still extremely low.

Exactly. Al-Qaeda and latterly ISIS are very cognizant of this, which is why they continue to be fixated with the idea of bringing down commercial airliners: It's a mass casualty "spectacular", which causes fear for anyone who has to fly or knows anyone who does (i.e. nearly the entire population of the Western world). Thankfully, with good aviation security, it is also easily preventable, which is why these terrorists have chosen to go for more "mundane" targets.

One4u2c saidI find it all quite ridiculous. I mean I don't care, so it is strange that people will kill and do horrible things to seek belonging. For what purpose? If everyone learned to eliminate empathy from their emotions, their lives would be so much enjoyable.

And if you had a one way ticket to Syria or Somalia, the lives of RJ'ers would be so much more enjoyable. And if you could, take you_know_its_true and Bonapart with you.

To OP's point, your average American is orders of magnitude more likely to die violently in a car crash or workplace accident or at the hands of a scorned lover or random robbery, than by jihad.

Piers Morgan and Southbeach1500 - a match made in heaven (and, surprisingly, SB doesn't appear to have a problem with this particular Brit "meddling in American politics").

Since when was Barack president of the EU?
That's like saying where was Barack when Boko Haram committed atrocities in Northern Nigeria.

The Brussels bombing was a tragedy. It doesn't need to be compared to other tragedies.
We can just let our forces take care of the problem.
Europe has had terrorists long before ISIS. It's unfortunately what we have to live with at the moment but it is not going to defeat Europe as a nations.
They can kill a few people but they are not powerful enough to defeat us.
Just as the USA is not going to be defeated by terrorism.

Anything other than grieving for lost people is just adding drama.
Yes it is terrible but we have the means to root it out.

Europe has survived 2 world wars and the cold war. The islamic threat is small in comparison.
