Why do some on the left accuse those they disagree with being socks, trolls, paid trolls, fake accounts?

I have on occasion politely asked them for the basis of the accusations. Almost always there is no response, and the few times they do respond, it is nonsensical.

Do they seriously believe that there can be only an extremely small number of members who think Hillary is dishonest or a crook, or think Sanders’ policies will not work in the US?

If they want to make charges, they should man up and defend them. This thread is to finally give them a chance or expose their nonsense. The thread is here because it is as much about member status as it is about politics.

Also, OP [S2Ki] is a paid troll. Even if he posts unbiased article, I wouldn't believe him. People need to do some proper research before believing anything posted by Southbeach and likes.

How do you know he is a paid troll? Who do you think is paying him? Do you think anyone who posts an opinion contrary to what you consider acceptable is a paid troll?

timmm55 saidToo many fake accounts on here that are Republican plants.

LOL What is your basis for saying people who don't agree with liberal politics are plants or fake accounts? Are you saying the only "real" people here support Democrats.

Why do some on the left accuse those they disagree with being socks, trolls, paid trolls, fake accounts?

Because many are. They get caught with poached profile pics, all speaking the same party line within minutes of any major news story, using the same tell-tale grammatical errors and misspellings as known rightists here, plus other evidence that makes them fairly obvious.

Fortunately most of them are rather bad at their attempts, evidently not being terribly bright, and are easily identified. Nor are their arguments persuasive, merely childish canned talking points they have trouble defending when challenged.

The Right has already been found to place plants online. RealJock is a gay site with nearly 400,000 members. Do you really think we wouldn't be a target of this?

my guess would be that they support causes that are against their own rights as gay men.

You don't know they are. You only think they are. And I have never seen you with any kind of proof about the "plants" or who the "Right" is exactly.

I don't recall any with specific fake pics or otherwise telltale signs. Making the same points or seeing the same sites does not indicate only a single person. In fact, many stories are carried on multiple sites.

If you can expose someone specifically, fine. Otherwise, say "I think Person A might be fake because he and Person B both ..." and let people form their conclusions.

First of all, some of the Democrats have not been long time gay friendly. Second, someone may support a candidate for other reasons, such as economic or foreign policy. That candidate may be against same-sex marriage, but the member may consider other issues more pressing. You may disagree, but that is far different than saying the member is a fake.

The candidate who opposes same-sex marriage likely also opposes gay rights. There are few exceptions.

And as a gay person, I can't think of any issues more important to me than gay rights, that includes the basic human right to marry. Should a minority person not be concerned with minority rights? What good does the country's economy mean to me, if I'm being excluded from it, and being discriminated against because of my identity? And being fired, evicted, and excluded because of it?

What good does national security mean to me, if I'm being assaulted in my own neighborhood because of my identity, even by the police?

Fine for privileged, straight (or at the least closeted) White men like you to preach to us what we should accept, because it serves your own selfish purposes. Well fuck you, I've got a gay life to live, even if you don't.

I'll vote for politicians who support gays like me. And reject those who don't. And you know what? My pockets will be even fuller with cash when I do so, with many more opportunities. Plus I think the entire US economy will be better, too. Conservatives wreck the economy every time they get they hands on it, that's history. So stuff that in your selfish Republican ass. icon_biggrin.gif

Art_Deco represents a large chunk of the gay population: They are single issue voters.

Art_Deco also represents the attitude of many of the RJ libs: Intolerance, as he resorts to hurling invective ("fuck you" and "stuff that in your selfish Republican ass") at those with whom he disagrees.

Art_Deco conveniently overlooks the fact that he voted for Barack Obama who strongly declared that "marriage is between a man and a woman" in 2008 and has cast his vote for Hillary who has declared on numerous occasions up until 2013 that "marriage is between a man and a woman."

NOTE: Art_Deco was in the closet for almost 50 years. Seems - like Hillary - Mr. Deco has a rather spotty record when it comes to homosexuality.

Whatever their faults, Obama and Art_Deco have evolved. Meanwhile, you're still a hateful anti-gay troll.

Quite true. Socalfitness used no vulgar phrases directed at Art_Deco, yet Art_Deco immediately lashed out at Socalfitness:

And instead of having a civil discourse with differing opinion, you chose to point your finger at someone else. Just something to think about. icon_wink.gif

Generally i think of it as shock that people can be so stupid. It's hard not to assume someone is a troll or a shill or has some other motivation than their own silly beliefs.

I think that same sort of thing happens a lot with the islamic terror and some people on the left. They can't really believe anyone is dumb enough to blow themselves up for god, which is why there is this silly notion that islamic terror has nothing to do with islam. When someone believes something or sets of things so ludicrous it's hard to imagine their beliefs to be genuine.

Do they seriously believe that there can be only an extremely small number of members who think Hillary is dishonest or a crook, or think Sanders’ policies will not work in the US

I am nearly 100 percent certain no one would argue those aren't valid opinions or atleast reasonable ones.

Nope. He has me on ignore*, so what's the point?

    * Though this may be a cleverly devised, tactical move on the part of Kolonel Deco to make me think that he has me on ignore, when in reality he does not. The Kolonel can be Krafty for sure! icon_razz.gif

So you harass him just in case. Pretty Kuntish really.

It's gay men in general, big fans of ad hominem. If you have the nerve to disagree with them or any of the gay group think (even just once), you're a troll, closet conservative, "masc-washed", etc., etc., etc. This community is almost cult-like at times.

You have a right to your opinion and even your childish insults. The fact is people have different opinions. For example, I believe the left and the Obama administration and a Obama "3rd term" whoever that may be has already damaged the country in many ways. You disagree. Fine.

Your whole life now revolves around your sexual orientation. Many of the "normal", well-rounded guys here have lives and do not consider that a main defining part of their life.

You simply cannot comprehend people with other views. So you lash out with your obscenities and call them fake. Basically your problem.

Just for the record, I was never in the closet. Another southbeach1500 lie, which he knows.

I was in self-denial. I truly believed I was straight. Within 24 hours of my realizing my true orientation I made reservations to attend Seattle's largest annual gay gala. Which by lucky coincidence was the very next night.

That was 21 years ago, on March 17, 1995, that I celebrate as my "second birthday". Just a few days ago. Ironic for me, because it's also St. Patrick's Day, and I'm part Irish. I always do something special for it.

And I've learned that a number of gay guys had the same experience. Not closeted, but in such deep denial like me they didn't realize their true orientation. Only a straight like southbeach1500 would fail to understand this, and use the misconception as a hammer against me.

I guess you could call me evolved, Ex_Mil8. But it happened so suddenly, literally thunderstruck by the revelation in a matter of minutes, that I don't know what you should properly call it. I merely like to think of it as the happiest moment of my life. icon_biggrin.gif
