Does it matter? Usually I go to whichever piece of equipment is free and hard to get on first. If not, I just grab dumbbells and start on arms.

Go with whatever you want to have the most energy for. Usually for me it's back because back is a bigger muscle group and helps release more growth factors when it is worked.

I would caution against over training though, especially if you do both in the same workout doing too many sets, you don't want to overload your arms.

In the grand scheme of things it might not matter but sometimes it helps to have reasons why you do things. So pick the muscle group that makes you happiest and do that first, all your muscles or your arms!!

Given that most exercises for the back involve the arms in some capacity I do back first then arms. Does it really matter? I have no flipping clue but it is the reason I have for doing it that way.

General rule of thumb you start with the largest muscle group

Arms you can workout every other day, whereas if u truly workout your back chest quads shoulders etc you need to rest in between workouts for your muscles to recover and grow

Your biceps include 2 muscles whereas your triceps include 3

Start with largest and workout til failure, move down the pyramid etc
