This years theme for the annually pines party out on fire island is Xanadu.
I'd like to hear some great costumes ideas. Think 80's, neon and roller skates.

Cool! I don't remember that movie well, but how about a neon colored speedo and neon headband?

Um... It was a poem for a couple of centuries before it was a movie...

I recall in the final dance number, there was a group of guys dancing in 1920's style clothes... baggy pants, shirts, suspenders... doing some variation of flapper dancing and pop-n-lock dance...

If you've got the torso for it, do that... only without the shirt.

Baggy pants serving to contrast the tight torso, and the straps over your bare chest are just added teasing.

damn.. is it warm in here? icon_twisted.gif

Xanadu came out in 1980, so a lot of the fashions were more 70's than 80's.

Assuming this is summer and you want to attract guys, a version of this outfit Sonny wore would probably work:

bootleg jeans, banded collar shirt & vest

or go for Painting Sonny with his smock and pallete

or go for the full Olivia

It was quite a memorable time, 8th grade into high school. The roller rink was the bomb icon_cool.gif
