animated chart of every top 5 music hit since the 50's really cool. watch them rise and fall while the #1 plays on the timeline.

also tracks the number of weeks at number 1 for each artist from the time you start playing. see just how dominant mariah, katey perry, the beatles, and boys to men actually were in each era. It is also fun to see what monster songs were mere blips in their own eras, and what cool songs got shut out by some song that dominated for weeks at a time. (and how much popular music truly sucked in the mid nineties, but how awesome 1964-5 and 1982-4 were.

I just spent 2 hours listening started at the late 70's. It's amazing what memories come up and what you remember "going on" when the songs played. I started working in music retail in the early 90's. That really started the memories coming.

    Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks for this; I realise that each era is good in its own way. Music is beautiful and I'm so glad that technology enables us to preserve it. And yes, music triggers memories!

I believe they were sales charts for data not voting so radio really didnt create the selections.
