Why do you REALLY work out?

    I got an email through from a blog asking this question. For me I guess the reasons are:

    1. To look good; hot bodies brighten the day of the beholder!
    2. To boost my energy levels and ward off all the problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle;
    3. Healthy body = healthy mind;
    4. To have fun (preferably with friends) and make the most of the outdoors;
    5. Compete in sports (more out of pride than anything else!).

    How about you lot?

    Used to be to keep myself healthy. Now it's just because I like it.

    A regular cycle of weight lifting, weed smoking, and masturbation keeps me from getting too stressed out about my endless stream of schoolwork icon_wink.gif Oh, and I want to look sexy as fuck also icon_twisted.gif

    wow, it's about to get really honest here...

    I'm a dancer, so I'm already healthy and I do enjoy the extra pump I get from lifting weights.

    I'm fairly insecure about my looks- I grew up idolizing 'alpha-male' types, and still do (probably because I felt insecure and 'less-than' because I knew I was gay). I grew up skinny and still am, and find myself always falling short of that idealized masculinity and beauty.

    there ya have it. I workout to try to fulfill an impossible mold I have in my mind of what I should be: the perks of being hit on are nice, but it's really for my own sanity; to know I'm working towards something and becoming what I've always idealized.

    I started taking really good care of myself when I was 28. I also follow the teachings of Kahunka. I work out to feel and look good - - - - - also to stave off age as it creeps up on me.

    Because I have my entire life and it's sort of a routine like brushing my teeth. Well, that and I don't want my pecs to be hanging down around my knees one day icon_eek.gif Gravity is NOT your friend.

    For I'd like to lend my strength for those who need it especially I'm going for a firefighting career.

    It helps relieve stress by working out and allows me to think clearly on problems I couldn’t handle.

    without lying to you...cause I want to look good, and it seems its healthier and I know it also helps my body to be in shape for when I have to do some sports since I play with the squash league at school. But the main reason is cause I want to look good, regardless of how shallow that might sound, its just the truth.

    I decided to do it because I feel like I owe it to myself as an unhappy kid and adolescent because I was unhappy of being gay to be as healthy and happy for as long as possible, so I can enjoy life.

    Plus I like having visible abs

    I have had a problem with kidney stones. They are partial built up from too much protien in my diet. Working out does two things. It helps the flow of water through my system, and the wieght lifting helps burn up the excess protien.

    As we say in my office - "to get less fat". My b/f is always making fun of me because I'm kind of a pussy, and he'll be like, "you go to the gym!", and I say, "not to get strong, to look pretty!?!"

    hehehee
