Trunks but much shorter. On me. Speedo on a really fit, low fat guy.

unless you have great legs and a full bum, speedo isn't for everyone.

Swimming trunks hands down, the picture there looks to be at my preferred length. I wouldn't fill a Speedo all that well, but would enjoy the view of another sporting a pair of Swimming briefs.

For the beach, trunks, but shorter.

For training, jammers (tight like the banana hammock, but they go down the leg like trunks).

Bad comparison! That speedo is so passé. Square cut low waist is what you're looking for if you're talking about a modern speedo for fit guys. If you're not that lean but your fluff is well distributed, you can still wear a square cut speedo. If you have a disproportionally large belly, it's not like board shorts are going to save you anyway.

First, speedos are the best. Just wear those. In case you can't...wear the tight boxer type instead.

Whatever looks best on YOUR body! However, those bermuda shorts length trunks in the OP's original post are pretty dorky looking for swim shorts, although they'd be OK for plain shorts to wear. Swim trunks need to be shorter, much shorter.

The briefs that bachian provided as examples are making me reconsider haha! I'd say board shorts, but only because I can't rock the brief look for the next 5 years or so icon_rolleyes.gif

    Squarecut.

P.S. I would never spend $60 on a bathing suit.

    Something in between those, usually.
Those pics that Bachian posted look like "normal" swimsuits like kids used to wear all summer in the 60's. (Worked great for moms... Just hose off the little bastards before they/we were allowed back in the house.) The problem is they don't have any place for phones, keys, wallets, pens, multi tools... But all that stuff is getting smaller and more integrated. A waterproof wrist phone would go a long way toward eliminating pockets.

Here's what I bought for the summer... just have to shape up the belly to be a little more self-confident in them.

Speedos are only for very select guys with a specific type of body. I like board shorts.
