It raises the question, why I am here now? I came, went away, then came back here, people are GONE, why are you still here?

It's a long time since I last posted on the forums. Ah icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif Also, I came back because other sites bore me or are not up to RJ. Good work on the hot man of the day, I'll be coming back icon_wink.gif

    People come and go.
That's how it works everywhere. If you like it you hang around. If you give up on it or find something more interesting you move on...

Interesting question. I have to admit, I'm starting to lose interest as time goes by.

Yeah, people are never satisfied with anything. It just so happens not sticking to an internet site, is a lot easier than not sticking to a relationship or job or heroin habit.

Have You Noticed That Most People Have Left This Site?

I notice that approx. 392,000 people are members. RJ's had roughly that same number for years.

I also note that many RJ forum regulars have left or become inactive over the years. To be replaced by new forum contributors.

This sort of turnover for an online social site does not surprise me. One of the reasons can be personal lifestyle changes, or just a need for something newer as the novelty wears off.

What does the summer have to do with less people posting in the forums?

um...it obviously doesnt SNOW where you live. Let's see, I can go to the beach, do some gardening, maybe go visit a neighbour, or maybe I will sit my ass down in a chair and look at some gay boys on the internet....

When you're on block....you might seem alone! icon_wink.gif

Many cool contributors have left or are in hiding.

The others, who stayed, can be bitter and unfriendly at times......You're the exceptionally nice one!!!

True, and the farther north one goes in this hemisphere in the winter the shorter the days are and the longer the nights. Leading many people to seek more sedentary indoor pursuits rather than active outdoor ones. And who find it's easier to socialize online than trudging through snow, cold and darkness.

I recently said that I thought there were about 40% of the traffic that RJ once had. People move on. We had quite the community from about 2007 through about 2012, a number of things happened, including several members who who made "disruption" their mission. I don't get disrupted easily....lol

However the last couple of years, I tend to "check in" to RJ and see whats up and who is still here on a semi regular basis. I still think it's a great site with lots to offer.

    ^^^^^^

This is pretty much the answer. When some of us started here, it was a community that guys wanted to be a part of. Then came the fall, the trolls and more than a few guys who have commented in this post. The change in discussion respect and increase in offensiveness chased off a lot. Some of us come back occasionally and it seems there are some new guys but it seems that many of the continuing posts are from those that were involved in the root of the problem in destroying the community. There's been no rebuilding but only a 'tent city' of those that remain. More come, try it out , stay for a bit but never grow roots to stay a long time. They pitch their tent for a while then move on.

Well, why do guys want to be called antijock and post on a jock/fitness website. The answer you give rings the bells!

I'm just here because of HndsmKansan's vast photo collection of himself in his undies.

Oh, and Art Deco. Luv that guy and his stories. Classic! I'm in until Art checks out and Kansan runs out of undies.

Lots to offer like a platform for a narcissist to post 47 pics of himself in various stages of undress or in gay underwear.

The current number of people who are members of this site could actually be a skewed number. There are people with profiles on this site who haven't signed on in months if not years. I imagine they just abandoned their profiles and forgot to delete them. The best way to determine growth or decline is to see the amount of current members actually on the site at a given time. As one poster mentioned in another thread, there used to be over 2,000 people on at night. That was years ago. But according to him now there are typically only 700. That' s nearly a third which is quite drastic.

Just check in from time to time.

But why are you still here? Now that your mission has been accomplished.
