Hillary should pick Bernie for VP - Three-quarters of Democrats say Sanders should have a "major role" in shaping the party's positions

It’s time to bury the hatchet, Democrats. Supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders need to accept that Hillary Clinton has the nomination all but sewn up, and Clinton’s supporters need to stop counting delegates long enough to face the fact that Sanders won the policy debate, hands down. With the end of the primary season just weeks away, the two candidates need to brush themselves off, shake hands, and begin quietly preparing to take on Republican nominee Donald Trump together – with Clinton at the top of the ticket and Sanders as her running mate....

Hillary probably will have no choice but to choose Bernie as her VP --- that's assuming she even gets the nomination because things seem to be looking increasingly worse in terms of the investigation. Also, Bernie will not go away.

Hilarity is too selfish to share with Burnie.....I love it! TRUMP will beat her easily. Let the Dems remain ununited.

Whatever they say now, a majority of Sanders supporters will almost certainly vote for Clinton ( just as the bulk of her avowed supporters eventually voted for Obama in 2008 ) . Sanders supporters may dislike Clinton, but their distaste for her is nothing as compared with their fear of a Trump presidency.

Trump University disclosures will destroy The Lyin' Donald with his key supporters.
The type of gullible folks who paid good money to be ripped off by Trump U. won't fall for his bullshit again.
Of course the GOP's only prayer is that they will.

I don't think the Trump supporters care one bit about Trump University. The Ted Cruz's and Marco Rubio's of the world were trying to sell that hit to anyone who would listen and it went no where.

You're probably right, but Trump University and Trump's tax returns (or lack thereof) are going to become big issues with floating voters and with a lot of traditional Republicans (ask our own freedomisntfree).

    Along those lines:
Former State Dept. watchdog debunks central Clinton email claim

Expect the Clinton supporters to reject this because the watchdog was a Bush appointee. For them though too bad the FBI deals with facts.

Two or three months ago having Sander's as Clinton's Vice President choice indeed was possible.

But, Sanders has developed a huge, almost Donald Trump sized ego, knocking and trash talking Clinton too much, too often.

I do believe that Sanders' mouth and ego has "shot himself in the foot" too many time to be considered for Clinton's VP choice.

Sanders wouldn't be a good choice for Clinton for many reasons, one of which is the polarity of position between Clinton and Sanders on some very important issues (e.g., Wall Street). Even if there's agreement between Clinton and Sanders on many issues (and there is), there are other Democratic candidates who complement Clinton better than Sanders. Sanders and his supporters now have to change their mission--i.e., to support Clinton with a view towards pursuing as many of their policy positions as possible.

It's hard to say if I could see this working... but I'd like to believe it could, and I'd fully support it! We NEED to keep Trump out of the whitehouse - and more so away from the rest of the world as much as possible.

Hillary's pick cannot be someone from the Bill Clinton era. She has to think forward, but choose someone that fits her mold ideologically and can carry the torch forward beyond her presidency. That sounds a lot like Cory Booker.

Trump, on the other hand, has already stated that he wants someone with a political background, and not a business or military background because he "has that covered." Trump still needs to consolidate the Evangelical vote, and who can do that better politically and religiously than Mike Huckabee?

Bernie would make her look incompetent. It won't happen.

Nothing he does or has done matters at this point. He is the anti-Hillary.

I admit it's an odd mix, but so is salad dressing until you shake it up. You just can't let it stand still or it will separate. I have no idea how that analogy applies, however.

What I find real curious about the Bernie phenomenon is how so many see him so differently. Are there two people who see the same Bernie?

To the ego comment, that he's enjoying the ride? Who wouldn't? He's getting a message told that we've been screaming unheard for decades. Kudos Bernie! And I'll tell ya something else, should Hillary--and I don't think she should as I like her too and I think the email stuff mostly nonsense, but--should she be indicted before the convention, you better thank your lucky stars we've still got Bernie running full steam ahead. Should she fall, the GOP would get a giggle but we'd still get the White House. So I say stay the course, Bernie.

To the idea of Bernie as a VP pick, I'd fall back on what I just said, should an indictment come between convention and November. Or what if an indictment comes down between election and taking office? These are strange days. Be that the case, a Bernie VP, by his campaigning, would completely legitimize his presidency should she be forced to resign hers.

So I acknowledge it's an odd mix, but I think there's some odd sense to it in these odd times.

We can do a whole Odd Couple theme for their campaign.

I think it's fair to say that MOST people pay as little taxes as is legally possible.

It's even more fair to say that a billionaire who brags about paying less in taxes than a 1st generation American cleaning lady is a douchebag.

Irving Berlin had the right idea (and he wasn't even running for president). When his lawyer offered him a tax shelter he said:

"I want to pay taxes. I love this country!"

You don't know what the hell you are talking about. Sanders supporters will never vote for the hapless Hillary ho because she is a pathological liar and a Wall Street shill only out for her own self aggrandizement. They will mostly stay home from the polls in November.
