    Hello,

I was wondering if any of you would have a recommendation of things to do in New York for October, A group of friends and I will be having a vacation trip so I would appreciated some ideas of things to do, you know, no the obvious things like museums and statue of liberty. Something like I can't miss to do in New York.

Walk from Grant's Tomb to Battery Park (via Riverside Park and Hudson River Park). It's about 8.5 miles and my fave walk in NYC. Apart from the great views, almost the entire walk can be done via pedestrian walkways, with hardly any road crossings and no crowds to wade through.

Visit Di Palo's Fine Foods, 200 Grand St., an old authentic Italian delicatessen, run by the same family who started it. Fresh mozzarella (made there daily) prosciutto from Italy, other Italian sausage, Parmigiano reggiano (from Parma), other great cheese and food. Sandwiches available.
