You have to love the arrogance of celebrities . Matt Damon is a B list actor whose political opinion holds no weight. People only like him because he is attractive , and more celebrities need to recognize they are merely faces. MIT is supposed to be an institution of higher learning , yet they have a Hollywood pretty give a commencement speech, as opposed to a great thinker or scientist . It's stuff like this that makes me want to vote for Trump come the fall

Perhaps hypocritical Matt shouldn't take money from the oil rich United Arab Emirates (where gays are punished with the death penalty) to produce his films.

Yes. When you can't attack the message you attack the messenger.

But "B list actor"? He's been nominated for several Academy Awards for acting. And WON an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. He earned critical acclaim for his role opposite Michael Douglas in 2013's Liberace biopic "Behind the Candelabra". His movies have earned billions of dollars, I think over 6.

Typical Right Wing outright lies. But if nobody calls them on it they hope they'll pass into fact. Sorry, Matt Damon is not a B-list actor.

He is a good actor but his opinion is nor more valid than yours or mine.

Interesting how he took shots at Trump but not the career criminal. They are both easy targets.

Believing you could be part of a simulation borders on believing in a supreme being "up there" somewhere watching over us. It makes for good sci-fi.

Also remember.. always.. bankers and finance types will do anything that is not specifically illegal. That is how they are rewarded. This never changes.

Deregulation is not done by the bankers- deregulation is done by the government.

The same president that was in love with NAFTA also aided in banking deregulation.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gramm%E2%80%93Leach%E2%80%93Bliley_Act
The Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act (GLBA), also known as the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999 and commonly pronounced ″glibba″, (Pub.L. 106–102, 113 Stat. 1338, enacted November 12, 1999) is an act of the 106th United States Congress (1999–2001). It repealed part of the Glass–Steagall Act of 1933, removing barriers in the market among banking companies, securities companies and insurance companies that prohibited any one institution from acting as any combination of an investment bank, a commercial bank, and an insurance company....

Respective versions of the Financial Services Act were introduced in the U.S. Senate by Phil Gramm (Republican of Texas) and in the U.S. House of Representatives by Jim Leach (R-Iowa). The third lawmaker associated with the bill was Rep. Thomas J. Bliley, Jr. (R-Virginia), Chairman of the House Commerce Committee from 1995 to 2001.

During debate in the House of Representatives, Rep. John Dingell (Democrat of Michigan) argued that the bill would result in banks becoming "too big to fail." Dingell further argued that this would necessarily result in a bailout by the Federal Government.[8]

The House passed its version of the Financial Services Act of 1999 on July 1, 1999, by a bipartisan vote of 343–86 (Republicans 205–16; Democrats 138–69; Independent 0–1)

Damon was the founder of H2O Africa Foundation, the charitable arm of the Running the Sahara expedition,[78] which merged with WaterPartners to create Water.org in July 2009.[79] He, along with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, David Pressman, and Jerry Weintraub, is one of the founders of Not On Our Watch Project, an organization that focuses global attention and resources to stop and prevent mass atrocities such as in Darfur.[80] Damon supports the ONE Campaign, which is aimed at fighting AIDS and poverty in Third World countries. He has appeared in their print and television advertising.

Damon is also an ambassador for ONEXONE, a nonprofit foundation committed to supporting, preserving and improving the lives of children at home in Canada, the United States, and around the world.[81] Damon is also a spokesperson for Feeding America, a hunger-relief organization, and a member of their Entertainment Council, participating in their Ad Council public service announcements.[

Damon attended Harvard University, where he was a member of the class of 1992, but left before receiving his degree to take a lead role in the film Geronimo: An American Legend. While at Harvard, he wrote an early treatment of the screenplay for Good Will Hunting as an exercise for an English class. Damon was a member of the Delphic Club, one of the University's select Final Clubs. In 2013, he was awarded the Harvard Arts Medal.[19] Damon received an Academy Award for the screenplay of Good Will Hunting in 1998, which was handed to him by Harvard alumnus Jack Lemmon, who had also been a member of Harvard's Delphic Club.

Less dangerous by what criteria? You can't really be serious.

Trump is totally a loose cannon. A nutjob. A Republican US Senator called him "unhinged". And he is indeed unhinged & unbalanced by any measure.

And neither is Trump a "known quantity" in politics. He's a known quantity in business, where he's had one failure after another. If he's know for anything it's for being a slick con man, superb at self-promotion and sucking-in the gullible.

But how is he known in politics? What elective or even appointive public office has he ever held? What is his governmental experience level? Rather, The Donald is a total unknown in politics. And in operating within a constitutional democracy.

And what he's demonstrated so far is frightening. Already alarming & alienating our allies. Our international friends are appalled that this clown could even be a Presidential contender. And worry about the direction and future of the US because of him.

I don't really care for Matt Damon as an actor -- A-List, B-List, whatever -- though I admit he has been quite a success as an actor/writer/producer. His politics, which I have no doubt are very Hollywood liberal, are something I could care less about.

I don't agree that Trump is a "lunatic". I do agree that he can be a bit of a "loose canon", but as a campaigner. I do not believe he will be that way as POTUS. Trump not being a politician is a plus for me. I think Americans are ready for a change -- a break from the status quo if you will. Whether Trump will get the job is anyone's guess. Hillary has problems of her own facing her. It's going to be an interesting summer no doubt.

Trump's Campaign Style & Rhetoric is precisely what we could expect from him as president.

Why would we expect this egomaniac to morph into a decent representative of our country?
