Simply the Greatest of All Time, Muhammad Ali.

    Muhammad_Ali_Palestine_ap_img.jpg

Not just a great sportsmen, but a great man:

    || Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go 10,000 miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on Brown people in Vietnam while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights? No I’m not going 10,000 miles from home to help murder and burn another poor nation simply to continue the domination of white slave masters of the darker people the world over. This is the day when such evils must come to an end. I have been warned that to take such a stand would cost me millions of dollars. But I have said it once and I will say it again. The real enemy of my people is here. I will not disgrace my religion, my people or myself by becoming a tool to enslave those who are fighting for their own justice, freedom and equality…. If I thought the war was going to bring freedom and equality to 22 million of my people they wouldn’t have to draft me, I’d join tomorrow. I have nothing to lose by standing up for my beliefs. So I’ll go to jail, so what? We’ve been in jail for 400 years."

Muhammed Ali is the ONLY person whose Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is not on the floor; rather it hangs on a wall - the reason for this is explained by the Great Man himself. He did not want his name to be walked on by “people who have no respect for me”.

    || I bear the name of our Beloved Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him), and it is impossible that I allow people to trample over his name,"

Believing the United States to be the “the stronghold of Zionism and imperialism, Ali would declare:

    || “In my name and the name of all Muslims in America, I declare support for the Palestinian struggle to liberate their homeland and oust the Zionist invaders.”

He's a man of conviction--vilified initially and admired finally. He reminds us, however, that even the "greatest" is no match against the ravages of illness and/or old age.

Ali was a great man in his own right, but that doesn't make him an expert on everything or mean his political opinions were correct.
For example, in his younger years he made many Anti-semitic statements, though later in life accepted his daughter who married a Jew and enjoyed his grandson's Bar Mitzvah.

Indeed, Ali left the radical Nation of Islam for Sunni Islam, later adopting Sufism. Thus in 2004 he would write - echoing comments made as early as 1996:

Over the years my religion has changed and my spirituality has evolved. Religion and spirituality are very different, but people often confuse the two. Some things cannot be taught, but they can be awakened in the heart. Spirituality is recognizing the divine light that is within us all. It doesn’t belong to any particular religion; it belongs to everyone. We all have the same God, we just serve him differently…It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Muslim, a Christian, or a Jew. When you believe in God, you should believe that all people are part of one family. If you love God, you can’t love only some of his children.

(On that last note, I'm not sure what his views were on gay rights.)

Oh knock it off, Jews aren't only special people on this fucking planet.

    Zionist = Anti-semitic

Wow. he's completely lost his marbles, assuming he ever had them in the first place.
Who said Jews are "special"? (That's a common Anti-semitic canard.)
And how can those who promote Jewish self-determination be Anti-semitic?

As if the dozen of anti-Israel threads posted in recent days weren't sufficient for him to vent his bile, he had to spam it here, too?

GymFreak saidHave you look at your posts lately? Anti-Palestinian threads are everywhere.

Yes ... Zionist is equal to anti-semitic.

GF's problem - one of them - is that he considers threads such as these to be "Anti-Palestinian":

Muhammad Ali took the same view as such moral "monsters" as Gandhi and Malcolm X, viewing Judaism as a religion, and Zionism as a colonial ideology whose adherents should be ejected from Palestine by force.

On that he went much further than I or most in the International Solidarity Movement have ever gone by far.

Who knows that Nelson Mandela (like Desmond Tutu) regularly referred to Zionism as "colonialism", and celebrated his friend Yasser Arafat as a "comrade in arms"?

That's because Arafat, whatever else one may think of him, was the symbol of a struggling people, and Mandela, unlike the creeps here, would never say a word against those fighting the injustice of an oppressive regime.

Hence why the Palestinians have always enjoyed the support of the "little people" of the world - whether that be the IRA in Ireland, the HDP in Turkey, the liberation movements across Latin America, the ANC in South Africa, the "New Left" in Europe, and all the other groups Israel hates (as an imperial lackey) and has fought against.

I think anyone who reads the last few posts will immediately detect who the trolls are.

Strange how the "little people" are so concerned selectively with the Arab-Israeli conflict but don't get behind Kurdish or Basque independence. How they are so concerned with Gaza (all the time) but never heard of Nahr el Bared and can't take time out to send "flotillas or "convoys" to Syria, not even to Palestinian Arabs in Yarmouk.

    Nahr El Bared
    neb.jpg

    Yarmouk:
    Yarmouk-v3.jpg

Even their Orwellian doublespeak name gives them away: the "International" Solidarity Movement focuses only one one teeny-tiny region of the world. Where is the "Solidarity" with Syria, where some 100,000 people have been killed per year? Or with Chad or Congo where millions have died? Nope. Never. Only Gaza/Israel, where less than 1,000 people per year have died.

Palestinians receive 13x's more foreign aid than Ethiopians Per Capita
    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/4055556

Note: while there was massive starvation in Ethiopia, Gaza has a problem with... obesity.

Note also that these "peaceniks" aren't advocating peace, just anti-Israel propaganda?
And with just one or two scratches, the underlying Anti-semitism pours out - even on RJ:

Why does virulent Anti-Semitism play such a large role in MidEast discussions on RJ?
    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/4015076
    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/1443151

They hate Israel/Jews more than they care about the Palestinian Arabs and are willing to sacrifice them for the cause. Hamas firing rockets out of densely populated areas, killing more Gazans than Israelis but supposedly giving Israel a propaganda black eye (because as planned, civilians die when Israel shoots back at the rocket launchers hidden in school yards or behind mosques)? In their warped minds, that's a good thing! And AI and HRW are wrong to condemn it.

Amnesty International: Rocket and mortar attacks by Palestinian armed groups is unlawful and deadly
    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/4030802

Likewise the refugees and their descendants who are denied the rights guaranteed to all other refugee populations in the world. The right to education, work, resettlement and citizenship in their new country. Of course descendants should be citizens of the country where they (and their parents, grandparents and now great-grandparents) were born. The haters, though, dread that. They want to retain them as prisoners in camps to one day constitute a demographic army by which to over-run Israel and destroy it demographically (since they can't by force). Never mind that polls show only 10% even want to "return" to Israel. Why no "solidarity" with them, beyond vapid calls that they must (some day) go to Israel? Cause they couldn't care less about the people, who they will doom to remain couped in those camps for as long as it takes. For decades. For generations. While they sit comfortably in their mum's basement.

"Useful idiots", who are motivated by their inner hate to the point that they can't think (and repeatedly lie, cheat and cook figures to reverse the scientific method), no matter how highly the flunkies think of themselves, are nothing but useless idiots. Glad they found a hobby, like how people bored in their mum's basement might otherwise join the KKK.

Not that ignorant trolls like you would be aware, but the plight of the Kurds in Turkey, and that of the Basques (not to mention Kashmiris, black South Africans, Vietnamese, Algerians etc.) have long been causes célèbre of the international leftist movement.

Right now, a particular focus of left-wing activism appears to be Saudi Arabia.

On the contrary, it is creeps like wolverine who condemn the PKK as "terrorists" and "illegal combatants", who defend the Israeli arms racket in Apartheid South Africa, and who defend the Iraq War and the hoarding (and secret development) of nuclear weapons, who are not remotely of the left AT ALL.

Yet not a single thread posted by you "leftists" on RJ in over 8 years.
Only scores (if not hundreds) of anti-Israel thread.

    Uh huh.

I haven't posted threads about Saudi Arabia, US outrages, Latin American defiance, or Kurds over the past nine years? icon_rolleyes.gif

I know you wish to be taken more seriously than a wretched mouthpiece for Apartheid South Africa (as it happens, you're a wretched mouthpiece for Apartheid Israel), but you do realise that kindred racists in Pretoria made the exact same argument right? "What about this? What about that? Look over here! Look over there! Blah blah blah blah blah."

Maybe, because there wasn't an international solidarity movement against Idi Amin or Robert Mugabe, the anti-Apartheid activists, focusing their attention on one small state, were "faux humanitarians" and "idiots-for-the-cause". . . ?

Yeah, no prizes for guessing whose side this jackoff was on.

Yep, there's the lunatic mouthing off thinking he's clever. Not even by half.

Let's recall that when I entered an early thread about the violence in Syria, rather than use that as an opportunity to state his "humanitarian" agenda, he claimed that I was just trying to deflect from Israeli (alleged) abuses. (Never mind the idiocy that one thread about Syria couldn't deflect from the dozens of anti-Israel threads he and his ilk had posted.)

Yes, folks, he really is that sick, that unbalanced, that mad from hate.

So funny. He quotes "humanitarian" as if I styled myself as such, only in other posts to protest I refused the label "humanitarian"! Talk about conflicting premises.

No surprise you couldn't answer my question (you avoid it religiously, as you must).

The thing about mwolverine is he's ugly and he talks too much.
It would be a shame if he really were as great as he thinks he is, if only because greatness should never look that ugly, but I guess these "white" trash types (to adopt the term he identifies with), they pretty much all the same...

Coming from the guy who's "only" been banned once, right?

That's the thing about trolls, they come in to say their piece and haven't a clue who or what they're even talking about (I wasn't expecting him to catch on). In this freak's case, he's here because he saw the word "Palestinians" and his brain short-circuited.

Pathetic as it sounds, he's doing his bit for Israel in a thread about ... Muhammad Ali.
