Kinda a long stretch from Greece. You do know they hate "furiners" there? Even ones who are half "Amurican". Hell, they even hate anyone from the US Northeast. Too "librul". Or are you from Texas originally?

Gladly! Is it still cold there though? Live in tropics climate all my life, I wouldn't mind a little bit of frost.

And you see how Davy ended up. icon_eek.gif

I lived in Texas over 4 years. Established residency there and voted in local & state elections. Actually remained a voting Texas resident for about 10 years, keeping abreast of issues there. Since that's legal to do for active duty Federal military when we get assigned elsewhere. Saves the hassle of getting new State driver's licenses (in my case 2 because of the separate motorcycle) along with other procedural bureaucratic hurdles.

Also met my late partner there, himself a 22-year resident of Houston. Perhaps not the greatest qualification for my commenting on Texas, but better than some. Yeah, naturally a lot of good people in Texas. And my great experience living in San Antonio in the 1980s encouraged me to retain my residency, with the possibility I'd return. In fact, just before I permanently moved to South Florida 9 years ago I stayed in Texas for about 7 weeks with a gay friend, one of my candidate places to settle down.

But in recent years the Religious Right has radicalized a great many Texans, making it an ugly & hateful place, for minorities and certainly for gays. I saw that in 2007, and so moved on. Not that Florida is God's gift to gays, either, but South Florida can be very friendly, despite a Republican Governor & legislature in the northern half of the State that hate us.
