My boyfriend was assaulted (robbery), and has a broken jaw. We're both vegetarians, and I'm looking for suggestions on things he can eat. He's already drinking Boost and Ensure, we have a juicer, and I am making him soups. But he doesn't have much appetite, and I need to find some things that will satisfy him. Anyone else experienced a broken jaw and have suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear about your bf =/ I hope he recovers quickly.

I had jaw surgery last year and it sucked, my mouth was wired shut for two weeks. What got me through mostly were jamba juice smoothies (or any variant of) -- these tasted a bit better than anything I could ever make at home; Clear broth also works as well... make sure you strain any soups thoroughly; and I tended to like Slimfast shakes better than Boost or Ensure. Hope these suggestions help!

icon_sad.gif Fast healing to your boyfriend. My freshman year a dorm-mate had a broken jaw wired shut and we would make him yogurt smoothies with protein powder. Grinding up meat in a blender really didn't work so good. We did do baked beans once... I wonder what google would have to say on (liquid meal jaw)?
