If this gender neutrality and liberal hatred of any different opinions continues, we're all going to end up looking like this:

They are thinking of removing the word God from it as well.

And if conservative hatred of gender equality continues, along with their own fanatical hatred of differing opinions, then we in the US will have to repeal women's suffrage and remove their right to vote, make them the chattel of their husbands again, and reverse every other social advancement since this country was founded.

US conservatives already want to eliminate the minimum wage, outlaw unions, lower the age for child labor laws, make the 5-day workweek obsolete, remove safety protections in the workplace, as well the safeguards for our food & environment. And every other kind of socially backward move to eliminate protections for the "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness" of the citizens. And what they've said they plan for LGBTs cannot even be written by a gay person without tears welling up in the eyes and anger forming into fists.

Unfortunately, the change has not yet been passed as a handful of - surprise! - Conservatives opposed a quick passage. Interestingly, the single line change is from "in all thy sons command" to "in all of us command" Not only is the new line gender-neutral, it does not affect the timbre of the song and it removes more of the archaic language "thy" Thee thou dost etc - these need to go too. In fact the original English had the word 'us' in it but that was changed a century ago. This would be putting it back!
And I haven't even started on the French version which is laced with Christian symbolism. There is less movement to alter that because few Quebecois care that much about the anthem.
