Arizona Republican Senator John McCain stated the following earlier today, with regard to the Orlando mass shooting: "I'm hearing a lot from my constituents about what happened and of course I am making them realize that Barack Obama is directly responsible for it," McCain said.

Then several hours later he said he misspoke and came out with this statement: "I misspoke. I did not mean to imply that the president was personally responsible. I was referring to President Obama's national security decisions, not the president himself."

You would think a man that has been in the U.S. Senate for 30 years would have learned to think before he speaks. At a time when everyone should be rallying to support each other and partisan politics should be put aside, McCain comes out with a statement like that. Even though I am a Democrat, I've always respected McCain for his service and what he went through as a POW in Vietnam. He has worked with Democrats to try and get things done before. I always thought he had a degree of class, but now I wonder. After the massacre of 49 people at a gay nightclub, this isn't the time to blame the president, and grand stand politically. I find his remarks repulsive. Shame on him.
