Earlier this year, I decided to put my 24 hour on hold and sign up with Anytime fitness. It's a great small gym and has lots of locations. Some better than others.

However, I'm regretting signing up now. For one, they use a third party billing company, and this week has been the 3rd time in 6 months they've drafted my account for extra fee or extra month membership. This has twice resulted in me being charge 2 times in 1 week: often $90, for their pretty limited offering clubs. Even when I specifically did not want to be auto-drafted, I kept ending up on it anyway. Then they tack on late fees, like I'm financing a car or something. I never had a gym charge late fees. Bally nor 24 Hour. And I was only paying between $19-30 a month.

The other thing, their clubs just aren't consistent across the board. The one in Anaheim, Orange County was really nice. The one in Nashville is nice, but it's small. The one in DC I went to was ok, but left a lot to be desired.

I'm just annoyed because I signed a 2 year paper for $39 a month. That adds to like $1,800. I don't like that. I should have stuck with no contract but I was moving and needed to find a gym right away. I'm just over this gym now....

    Contracts are a bitch.
