Don't read them..its simple.....instead of, posting "How many times are WE going to discuss this"...or "Not again, haven't we covered this already"?.............just go read a book or do something else.

There are new people joining the site every day. There may be established members who missed the original topic or maybe want to add more comments to what they already have posted before. And I think it is silly to expect someone to first search to see if a topic has been mentioned before he posts something.

I think its kind of snotty for some RJ members to complain about topics that have already been discussed.

RJ is not a private club for members who have been here long.

So its that simple..........instead of complaining...move on.

I dont think it is intentional, many new users are joining the forum and they dont know what was posted before. We could say that they should search the topic before to create a new thread but the search feature of this forum is really vague, you get all kind of results but what ure really looking for. The best way to deal with this is to answer to those threads linking the old one ;)

Sometimes the search engine here can only give you two pages, regardless of the keywords (or sometimes the exact title of the topic); so might as well...

In someway it's hard, people think they may of had a new thought, but the chances are, it was thought of before.

    It's life.
It's just the way it is..........

In some cases, I think it's great to revisit topics. There's always new information being circulated.

It also sucks because any question I have as a new member has likely been answered and it's difficult meeting people without posting anything...

    /my two cents icon_smile.gif

The only topics I really get tired of are the racism threads. Otherwise, ignore and let the new guys bash each other out. icon_razz.gif

I will keep bitching, moaning and complaining about this dumbfuckery until the sun goes red giant and takes the planet with it. Or at least until it gets annihilated in the crossfire between Sedative's and my invasion fleets.

I think it was, in part directed at me... I would have responded earlier, but I was busy wiping up someone else's spilt milk icon_cry.gif

The sheer volume of threads and the length of them could take a year to sort through to see if some of your questions or topics are old.

Perhaps if anyone is feeling put out by repetition they could, in a friendly way, post a link to the older thread as a favour to your fellow RJer?

Of course, there would immediately be complaints of bringing back up old threads that some will claim are dead, should be dead, etc etc etc. as we've seen that here too.

Quite frankly, we've seen and responded to several threads all on the same topic, it's a challenge to patience (good muscle to exercise), and to the creative part of you, to reply with a spin appropriate to and appreciative of the person starting the thread.

Some people would make ghastly teachers. Just think of how many times the same questions get asked repetitively in that arena?
