seems current thinking the divorce rage is a little lower than for the straights
-we are only 3-5% of the population so this could be difficult to measure
-lots of the initial gay marriages were partners that have been together for years. Gay or straight marriages last a lot longer if the partners have been dating living together >3years.
-you cant say the divorce rate is 50% but rather you have to think of it in terms of time vs divorce. The divorce rate is lower for couples married for >10 years. the divorce rate for those married around18years may be higher since the children are leaving the nest and couples want to get their lives back.
-consider if the divorce rate is 50%; means the successful couples still married have been or will be together for their whole lives. A remarkable feat.
all things LGBT changed so quick the last 5 years. I bet most of the the old gold star gay men will never marry and thus never divorce.
