http://www.politicususa.com/2016/07/09/trumps-vp-pick-believes-fear-muslims-rational.htmlThe guy Trump is vetting as Vice President shared a super racist conspiracy oriented video about Muslims. I know, you’re shocked.

Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn tweeted in February, “Fear of Muslims is RATIONAL: please forward this to others: the truth fears no questions…”

The retired General somehow overlooked the Muslims serving in our armed forces.

WASHINGTON — A top military adviser to Donald Trump is being vetted to be his running mate, The Post has learned.

The outspoken and brash Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn — who was forced out of his post by the Obama administration in 2014 after pointing out the rising global jihadist threat — has already briefed the Republican presidential candidate on several occasions and is in close touch with high levels of Trump’s staff.

Flynn joins the ranks of GOP politicians being looked at for the high-profile pick, including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa.

Trump spent the holiday weekend with two of the contenders.

    April 30, 2014 
The top two officials at the Defense Intelligence Agency said Wednesday that they will retire from those positions in the coming months, part of a leadership shake-up...

...The moves come at a time when the DIA is in the midst of major changes, including an effort by senior Pentagon officials to expand the agency’s network of spies overseas, improve collection on unfolding crises...

...Critics said that his management style could be chaotic and that the scope of his plans met resistance from both superiors and subordinates. At the same time, his tenure was marked by significant turbulence, including the fallout from the classified intelligence files leaked by former intelligence contractor Edward Snowden, as well as other emerging crises....

All very alarming stuff (especially with the gratuitous gore and the Bob3-esque fonts thrown in), but let's get back to the subject. While generals are good at fighting conventional wars, they are less successful when it comes to counter-insurgency and almost useless at domestic security and counter-terrorism. The global trend has moved away from conventional warfare. As the hawkish former Army vice chief of staff, Gen. Jack Keane, recently put it regarding generals running for high office, “We have a sufficient political class, and the military doesn’t have to get involved in high national office. The days of doing that, post-Civil War and post-World War II, are gone.”.

The most important factors in domestic counter-terrorism are prevention and disruption.

The trend in Western terrorist attacks is upward, but not hugely so and more plots fail (i.e. are prevented and disrupted) than succeed.

If Trump chooses Gen. Flynn as his running mate, it might give him a temporary "reflected glory" boost in the polls (which he desperately needs), but, as we know, it's the main candidate who wins (or loses) the race, not the running mate.

Besides, the US has a more pressing homeland violence problem than terrorism to worry about.

How about posting some crime scene photos from US mass shootings?

I had to log out and come back to see what you were talking about. YIKES! Some American with a strap on bomb blew up the thread. lolololol. Not even just a bobo move but also giving rise to a hateful baker yeast infection. It's as if someone was purposely emulating all the bad parts of people he's met to make up for his own lack of personality & decency that for whatever reason his parents failed to instill. What mechanism of hell inclines a person towards that? Oh how sad.

To your point on the mindset of a military man which might apply to this general in specific, I'm not familiar with the generalities but that he'd diss is own men, that he might make a statement or relay an attitude dangerous to his own men, to Muslims in the armed forces, seems somewhat telling. And that falls very much in line with the charge of a chaotic management style, not really what anyone should want in high executive office of such great power.

Given the success of America's domestic anti-terrorism effort over the last 14+ years, it does make you wonder what would happen if the anachronistic Second Amendment were ditched and the same sort of effort were put into gun control and preventing gun violence. But then, there was never a pro-terrorism lobby to get in the way of anti-terrorism.

theantijock saidThe guy Trump is vetting as Vice President shared a super racist conspiracy oriented video about Muslims. I know, you’re shocked.

I wouldn't read too much into media reports of people Trump is "allegedly" vetting as his VP since they are likely false.
