I just took a few shirtless pics to track my progress but I can't help but notice the sagging skin hanging over and the excess around my lower ab that makes it appear I am fatter than I am. I know it goes away eventually but how long am I looking at?

I have lost 20 pounds so far this year and I haven't noticed any loose skin (yet).

How does this help the OP with his concern? He comes here looking for advice for his botheration and you rub it in his face that you don't have the same problem.

    To buddycat,

Everyone is different. And depending on how fast you lose weight, your age and genetics you may have to wait quite a while for the skin to tighten up. Eat nutritiously, get your rest and drink plenty of water to allow your body all that it needs to recuperate the best it can. I'm sorry that there is no solution to this. In extreme cases some people elect for skin reduction therapy but hopefully that's not the case for you. I knew a guy who lost a lot of weight and had skin reduction surgery completely around his entire waist. The scar was hideous. It looked like someone took a dull shade of red lipstick and sloppily drew a very uneven line (the surgical incision) all around his waist.

This example is actually pretty good. My friend's scarring looked so much worse than this:

I don't that does much. I am not talking about small amounts of weight. I dropped 57 pounds in a few months time and about 70 lbs total. It is kind of like I can hold it up and close pin it and my love handles look normal. When I where jeans, 33s are kind of loose but I sometimes will buy a shirt too big because I am deceived by the skin.

Oh. Maybe you should put some of the weight back on and then lose it slower to give the skin a chance to compensate?
