Yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of the crash of TWA flight 800 off Long Island. The Paris bound 747 exploded 12 minutes after takeoff from JFK airport in NYC. The final report of the investigation stated that the most likely cause was the explosion of the center fuel tank. I've never bought that conclusion. 747s have been flying around since 1970, and center fuel tanks don't just blow up. The ill fated 747 that operated the flight that night(tail number N93119) is shown in this clip taking off from LAX, 5 years earlier in 1991. RIP to the victims.
