    Hey Real Jocks!

I've been making so much progress on recovering from my long term injuries, and gaining back my fitness, that I've decided to kick my hobbies into high gear. I've always loved Mountain Biking. Trail riding.. downhill.. it's all so cool. Well, my city (Louisville, Ky) Just opened the WORLDS largest UNDERGROUND bike park. Yeah... it's one of the coolest places I've ever been. 5.5 football fields of trails, ramps, obstacles, you name it. I went a few weeks ago with some basic gear, rented a bike, and spent all day pushing my limits, and finding my comfort zones. Before I left, I took the bike off of a shipping container, into a series of jumps, and DID NOT DIE! It was one of the best days I've had in so long..

Anyway, now that I'm done gushing. I REALLY want to invest in this hobby, and start building my skill. My big question for Real Jock is... who's into this kind of thing? What kind of gear do you carry? And finally... please please please give me some advice on what sort of bikes I should be looking at. I'm a big advocate of spending big, so that I don't run through 8 bikes before finding one that is actually up to the task.

    So... help? icon_biggrin.gif <3

You might try sending an email to paulflexes.

He's an absolute fanatic bike rider.

Haven't seen him on here in a few months - so he may no longer be active - but an email might get through.

Thanks! Yeah, I've been looking through the other forum posts, and there seem to be a few that really know their stuff. If I get stuck I'll visit his page and see if I can get in touch with him.

If you haven't bought a bike yet, go to your local bike shop and ask about demo days where you can demo bikes for free. Ride a few different brands and styles (full suspension, hardtail, downhill/endure, etc). That way you'll have a better idea of what bike will feel best for you.

If you have already bought a bike, go fuckin ride the fuck out of it! icon_biggrin.gif

PAUL! Where the Hell have you been? I presume still on contract somewhere in SoCal? Glad you remain active here (even if semi).

Back in SoFla, sitting at home unemployed waiting for a couple bones to heal (collar bone and knuckle). Had a horrible but funny crash recently.

Ditto. He's not the only one.

    Heal up quickly.
