Sigh. Another catholic archdiocese admits sexual child abuse and wrongdoing in handling the case. While sweeping it under the rug and cover up have been the rule with the archdioceses, when faced with the evidence, they could do nothing but admit guilt. It involved a former priest who is now in prison. The former archbishop John Niendstedt was accused of misconduct by the courts, and the vatican was faulted for interfering in the investigation. An honorable priest Rev. Daniel Griffith wrote that "compelling evidence amounts to a good old fashioned cover-up to preserve power and avoid scandal and accountability" in the lawsuit.
